I really liked that this was highly-rated and had a Greenguard certification. I had to return the first one I purchased because after two months of an infant lying on it, it had formed a deep ridge in the center on both sides. You can see it in my picture, even without any weight on it. It was much worse with the weight of a baby on it. When my son started rolling, he often couldn't roll out of the middle. Not safe at all. I called Sealy to see how they could address my concerns and I was informed that this product is not manufactured by Sealy at all. This is made by Kolcraft. After calling to speak with them, they agreed to send a replacement. The replacement mattress, unfortunately, has the same issues as the first. After calling Kolcraft again and persistently explaining the safety concerns of a sagging crib mattress, they will only send another of the same mattress. They refused to refund me, said they had "done me a favor" by sending me the first replacement, and that the ridge in the center "isn't really that bad" and that this sort of thing is normal for any crib mattress. When I'm looking for a firm, safe surface for my baby to sleep on, something that "isn't really that bad" is not acceptable. I finally called Amazon and their customer service department was amazing. They agreed to a refund and I will be returning this mattress and finding something else. Read more

First, it is NOT made by Sealy. The martial looks very cheap. Amzon’s description is not correct, i don’t see the same color, and it doesn’t have the air flow feature at all. I thought I was buying a Sealy but everything (box, tag) said it was Kolcraft. Not sure if the two companies are affiliated but description should have indicated that. Aside from this however, we decided to return the mattress because the quality felt so cheap. Seemed like you could feel the springs and that it would not hold up well over time. The cover/lining was scratchy to the touch. We bought this for a toddler bed, not as a crib mattress and it was hard and lumpy. I wouldn’t want my toddler (or infant for that matter) to sleep on this. I ended up getting a Serta and so happy with that purchase. If I could give it 0 or negative stars I would. This was the biggest piece of garbage I was purchased from Amazon to date.It came in a dented broken box, there was no sticker on it, so I can only assume it is used.It is in no way luxury. It crinkles and is cheap and poor quality garbage. It isn't safe for a newborn to sleep on.I will not be purchasing Sealy ever again, I'd used to associate them with quality but this is insane. Very nice soft mattress. I noticed on other reviews some mentioned it being "loud" or "noisey". I have to admit, I thought people were over reacting. I didn't hear anything......until last night. My daughter is now 14 weeks old and moving around more. I woke up several times last night to a sounds that I couldn't figure out coming from the monitor. Every time I attempted to figure out what it was, nothing. Then when she woke up for the morning she was in her crib moving around and I realized this mattress is noisey! It is now making a crinkle noise when she is moving around. How annoying! It would be a 5 star mattress if it wasn't for that sound. Read more

Seriously amazing and worth the cost! I did an amazing amount of research looking for the perfect mattress for our sweet baby. After days of losing my mind over it, I picked this one and I will never think twice about it. It is so comfortable and quiet too. I didn't even have my baby sleep on this mattress! It is very flimsy and not firm at all. I bought it to replace a mattress we used when my now 9 year old was a baby. That mattress (a Simmons purchased at Babies R Us) worked great, but was starting to snag in the middle. When the Sealy Baby Firm arrived, I was very disappointed. It has a very noisy cover, the seams are plastic covered and the whole mattress easily depresses with little effort at any spot (edges and middle). It honestly reminds me of an inflatable mattress...very light weight and doesn't feel like much is on the inside. I returned the mattress and purchased the Beautyrest Beginnings Sleepy Whispers Ultra Deluxe 2-in-1 Innerspring Crib and Toddler Mattress....the difference is night and day and the Beautyrest is what I would expect a firm infant mattress to be. I ordered this mattress to replace an older sealy mattress we had used for 4 babies in a row. I’m very happy with the quality of the mattress and it’s firmness. So far the 4 week old has had no complaints on the comfort. Mattress is a standard size and fits perfectly in the crib. I also like that there are no metal grommets on the edge to let air out, and that it is easily wipeable with a Clorox wipe if there is a big accident. Read more
