I ordered these twice as I have a six knob range and they only sell the packs in five. The first time, I received the correct Safety First knob covers that look like the ones pictured. They are plastic, but a sturdy plastic and have a nice rubber edge where the sides of the cover open, close and latch. We have been happy with them and they prevent the kids from turning on the gas range. The second time, I was sent a knock off version from a different brand, even though all I did was hit “reorder” on my original Safety First order found in my Amazon profile. While these knock offs are roughly the same size and color, they aren’t as sturdy and my husband commented that they look and feel more cheaply made. Not worth the same value as the Safety First ones. Luckily, I called Amazon and they were kind to refund the item and did not make me go through the hassle of sending it back.If you buy these, just make sure it’s the Safety First ones that arrive, because the ones I received are not worth as much as the Safety First versions, and you should get what you pay for.I have attached pictures of the knock off (made by KidCo I believe) and the Safety First version. These knobs are perfect for what I need. I have a Samsung gas stove that I desperately needed to cover the knobs on due to my large dog jumping up while we were at work and turning the burners on (thankfully they lot instead of just releasing gas!)So we went a few weeks just having the knobs off of the stove while we searched for covers that would work well. The black color looks great and matches well with the black fave of the stove and they are easy to open. They will get caught in the oven door if they are open which is my only issue but really I can manage with that. I can't say for sure if they are child proof but for us they have kept our dog from blowing the house up so they are more than worth the money. Read more

So I bought these because my cats were actually turning on the stove and they would jump off it. So what I did is I went online and bought baby safety knobs and I found this product and I put them on and they are the greatest thing I’ve ever bought in my life. They are easy to install and the thing is when you put them on over the knobs it doesn’t turn the knobs while the cover is on there it just keeps spinning. So no one can turn on the stove or do anything like that and you don’t have to worry about your house being set on fire. Best thing I’ve ever bought. So it’s not only good for babies it’s also good for animals that like to jump off of things. Read more

I love these covers. The way my gas stove is positioned in my kitchen, it is very easy to accidentally turn the left one on when I am stretching to put away things in the cupboard above my stove. I did that a few times and found these covers. They protect you from accidentally turning on the stove and they look nice. They are also very easy to pop on and off to clean (and I just put them in the top rack of the dishwasher) and they are easy to open up when you want to use the stove. In my situation, I am not using them for child or pet protection, but I can see that they'd be very useful for those scenarios as well. Highly recommended. Read more

Our 11 dogs like to see what's cooking. More than once, our little Ivy (a Sharpei/beagle mix) has turned up the heat under pots or just turned ON the burners without igniting the gas -- causing a slow gas leak in the house!!!!!!!!! We decided that before she burned the house down or caused an explosion we should do something, so we first tried just taking all the burner knobs off the stove. It was a pain in the neck to have to put them back on to cook and remember to remove them again when done! Then I saw these and knew we had to get them. They were very easy to install and they do the job of keeping Ivy out of trouble. I do wish they were not so large, however. On our knobs, these spin round and round so much it's hard to find the latch to open them when I need to turn on a burner. The lids also go way down over the oven door when open, which makes things a bit awkward, so I have to set them at the heat I want and then keep them closed while still cooking to keep them out of the way. I think these would be great if they could be adjusted somehow to fit the exact size of the shaft where the knob goes so they don't spin around so much -- maybe a knockout plate with different hole sizes so the buyer could remove only the part necessary to fit the shaft on their knobs? Or maybe some sort of washer/adapter to fit? Read more

If you have a gas stove and kids, these are a must have. They don't make the knobs totally kid proof, but removes the inadvertent twisting of the knobs by a child who is just curious. They have to truly be invested to take these off and get to the knob. They are a little annoying for grown-ups to always have to remove to use the stove, but worth it. Why gas stoves ever put the knobs within child's reach is beyond me. Hmmm... a little dial you can turn and release flammable gas into your house, that seems crazy dangerous and I am normally on the spectrum of, "eh, go play in the street kid, you will be fine." I read in the reviews some people got really well made ones with rubber backs and others flimsy plastic. I got flimsy plastic. I’d return them but I need them ASAP and they get the job done. Plus no guarantee I’d get better ones if I exchange them. My new stove is super sensitive, my husband accidentally turned on a burner and my daughter turned the gas on. As long as they work they’re good enough but for $20 they’re really cheap plastic that spin around and are disappointing. If they’d been cheaper I don’t think I’d mind so much, but I’ve used lots of Safety First products and never got anything so poorly made. On a positive note, they do look good from a distance, and as long as they works I’m technically happy. Read more

Way more durable than the two previous brands I bought. They don’t break like other brands because they are placed differently on the oven knob. And they don’t over heat if someone has the stove door open too long. I actually had a previous brand melt in seconds. I like the color as well since our oven is black and chrome. My toddler can’t get these off. He figured the other ones out quickly. Read more
