I just 'celebrated' one year with my colostomy. I'm very uneven due to a hernia and have to use stomahesive to fill in (and recently found barrier rings from safe n simple, another game changer! More on that in different review) I would have to use alcohol and/or adhesive remover with alcohol to remove residue etc. Alcohol can burn if you have irritation & make it worse, baby wipes are helpful, but I would use multiples as well as they leave an oily residue due to lotion that I would then have to wash off with something else. Then I found these.When I first opened them they looked small and not quite as thick as I had pictured, but good things come in small packages!First, peeling down the tape from the barrier, as you find a corner to start with, start wiping underneath it on the exposed skin and rub along the edges that are stuck on your skin as you gently pull. It comes off much easier, as well as removes the left over adhesive on your skin at the same time.Once barrier is off, I use the same one to make my first cleaning swipe. Even the stoma, gently of course. Toss it in the toilet because it's flushable!I use a second to remove the extra adhesive left from the paste or ring. If it is stubborn I gently rub across the area a few times until it is gone.It dries in seconds leaving no oily residue so you are ready to apply your new appliance.I've never written a review as lengthy as this, but I am impressed and hope someone else will take that chance to make this process a little quicker and easier.I wish I would've tried them sooner. I feel like a genius for finding this product! I used to buy the Brava adhesive remover spray (~$13) but it was too much of a hassle as it was constantly clogging, even after spraying upside down and cleaning the head. I help my husband remove his wafer base with these and they are like baby wipes, so easy to use, and effective. They remove all the adhesive and his skin is never red. Like all adhesive remover wipes, you push gently on the body while lifting base. I always had to open a couple of the packets before but can do it now with one wipe. Read more

This is used for cleaning up around an ileostomy stoma while changing ostomy bags or for cleaning up around wounds after a bandage removal. For the ostomy bags, generally there's a little ring sealant left on the skin that needs removal, and these wipes do the job nicely. No alcohol in them and they leave the skin in good condition. Each wipe is about 3 x 5 inches. I needed to remove a health monitor that had been attached to me for weeks. These wipes enabled me to gently remove it without damage or pain to the skin. They then cleaned off the remaining adhesive. They did exactly what I needed them to do. Read more

I use this mainly to clean the stoma area. If one uses any adhesive product, especially an Eakin Co-adhesive, this product really doesn't work well. However, again, it is a great stoma cleanser product...and the pricing through Amazon it great. I buy it here because Medicare will only pay for one adhesive remover type at a time. And while I could get this through my medical supplies provider, it would cost a whole lot more. Read more
