this could totally be user error and I've tried to watch tutorials but this thing is very hard to use if youre used to disposables. Ive tried multiple times. At least twice its literally sheered off a patch of skin. And I always end up with razor burn as well as exaggerated post shave scars from the tiny bumps on my legs. It is an extremely close shave. But I have tried a lot of products with it and it just continues to rip off skin. I will keep trying because its beautiful and I hate constantly using disposables. For now I am letting my skin heal 😭 Read more
I hate using plastic razors as they dull so fast on my course hair, but this razor made my legs silky smooth! I couldn’t stop touching them after I was done shaving. The razor doesn’t get clogged as easily as disposal razors and the safety razor blades have a lot more uses for me than a disposable did. My legs before used to only last a day after shaving before I got prickles, but I’m currently on day three and they’re still super smooth! The only downsides I would say is that it is very easy to cut or knick yourself with this razor when using it for the first time and razor burn. I cut myself about three times on one leg, and the morning after I was done shaving I noticed I had some razor burn in areas of my leg. You need to clean and dry all parts of the razor when done to keep it clean incase you knick yourself next time while using it and to keep it from rusting. Read more
Update Sept 24 2021: My opinions on my initial review remain the same however now that I've been using it for a couple of months, I definitely do not recommend this for legs. I have sliced my ankles twice (yes, SLICED the skin off of my ankles like a cheese grater) using this. As much as I love the results from this shave, I can no longer use it and will be searching for a safety version instead. So if you are experienced with this type of razor, I HIGHLY recommend this. If you are a bit clumsy or new to shaving, definitely skip.Best little dang razor I ever spent money on. Shave is SO SMOOTH, and quick. I was scared to use it at first but ended up starting slow until I got used it and now I shave at normal speed. No nicks or anything, always feels sharp and not dull. My skin feels like satin. Armpits are pretty easy too. Never going back to cheap disposable women’s razors! Read more
To be honest, I was a little scared to try a safety razor!! But I really wanted to start replacing my everyday items with more sustainable options. This razor is not only very pretty, but it's also a lot easier to use than I was expecting!! The manual for it with detailed instructions on how to use is all online so if I ever need a refresher, it's easy to get to.I highly recommend also getting a razor blade disposal tin. The razor itself may not rust but the blades can if you leave it in the shower so you might need to replace them more frequently than you'd expect. That said, you can get hundreds of refill blades for pretty cheap!! Read more
This thing is a revelation. I get the dreaded “strawberry/chicken skin” EVERY time I shave, ever, so I mostly just switched to epilating to avoid the misery. Plus, one day after shaving (or less if I happened to get goosebumps in a light breeze) I’d have stubble galore. But couldn’t shave again, because my skin would go crazy. BUT THIS THING. Okay. Wow. Yes, it’s super sharp, and the instructions tell you not to use it like a normal razor—which, yea, the couple times I forgot that, I got a few tiny nicks. But it made my legs smoother than they have LITERALLY EVER BEEN, including with waxing/epilating. Two days after my first shave with this thing, and I have zero irritation and my legs are still 95% smooth AF. Idk why anyone would spend $75+ on the fancier brands of this, truly this is my new holy grail product. If you’re like me, add in a glycolic acid body lotion to deal with existing hellish skin stuff. But I’m a safety razor convert now for sure. Read more
I wanted to start making the switch to sustainable and more eco friendly products and knew a safety razor would be the best option over disposables. I was definitely nervous at first. The thought of handling the razor blades, the fact that it’s double edged, and the reviews where people said they had severely cut themselves while using it were all kind of concerning. Come to find out, there was nothing to be worried about. Here are a few tips and some information to keep in mind:- There is no need to press down when shaving like you would with a disposable. The weight of the razor is intentional as it helps to add that needed pressure, plus the blades are very sharp.- You can shave any area you’d like with this razor, including arm pits, legs, and crotch area too. It’s important to go slow at first and keep in mind that it’s double sided.- It was recommended to me to exfoliate before using this safety razor, but I’ve found that it doesn’t give me razor burn or anything like that if I don’t. If you have sensitive skin, this may be needed.- When changing the blades, it’s easiest to grab from the two sides to avoid cutting yourself. Also, if you don’t want to change the blade as often, it’s important to open the razor up and dry the blade and pieces of the razor after every use.If your nervous like I was or hesitant, just do it! I highly recommend this safety razor.. and for the price, it can’t be beat! Read more
At first I left a really good review of this product. Now that I’ve used it a total of 3 times, I see how much it sucks. The blade was only sharp for my first 2 uses. My 3rd attempt was pointless. The blade was already dull on both sides! Is this a single use blade?? And if so why’d it only come with one. Also the handle sucks, there’s no shape to it to assist in holding it. I should’ve just stuck with my Gillette razor. I was trying to go plastic free, but not when I’ll be throwing blades away left and right Read more
Okay safety razor virgin here, well sort of. I bought this to be a bit more eco conscious, also it’s cute af. WELL my mind is blown and I’ll tell you why, I wear glasses because I’m blind as a bat, so I brought my razor in the shower and did like 3 overly cautious strokes of my leg, not even sure if I was touching my skin with the razor or just the safe outside of it. I decided I should be more careful and use it outside the shower with my glasses on so stopped there. I’m still in my TOWEL writing this review because I just put my glasses on and my leg is BALD, like BARE. So imagine I put effort into shaving and wear my glasses oh my goodness the RESULTS I’m gonna get!! Basically it is magic, only explanation. I barely felt a thing on my skin, because I let the weight of the head of the razor do it’s thing like the instructions said to. Wow. Very impressed now. Read more
Read more
Read more
Like many millenials, I'm on a mission to decrease my plastic waste, so exchanging disposable razors for a safety razor was an obvious easy swap. The razor itself looks beautiful, and was dead easy to put together after disassembling to install the blade. I had also read that safety razors are much gentler on the skin, and as such are better for reducing razor bumps/shaving rash etc. To be honest, I can't help but think of the tools the use to shave kebab meat in chips shops whenever I use this on my legs. I have sacrificed a hell of a lot of flesh in my quest to reduce my plastic consumption with this razor. I imagine it's my poor technique, but it's worth bearing in mind that using this product will take a bit of getting used to. Watch some instructional videos to save yourself a lot of scabs! Read more
Brilliant. I was using my husband’s traditional razor but bought this when I got sick of him complaining that I was blunting his blades. Now he’s using mine because he likes it better than his own 😂😂Took one star of handling because it is a little heavy, but I really like it otherwise and will be buying one for my husband so he’s not blunting my blades...
