There's always a couple of things i look for when getting getting cold pressed rose hip oil. First, it should smell kinda grassy, almost like flax or avocados. This did. It smelled super fresh. Second, it has to be bright orange. This was. I use this oil for most of my skin care because i have tried every anti aging face cream out there, including the expensive ones (La Mer, SK II, La Prairie, Dyptique, Lancôme, Clarins, Estée Lauder, Clinique, etc, etc.) None of them gave me the LASTING results that rose hip oil does. $500 for La Mer and i saw better results with raw Shea butter and rose hip oil that i spent a few bucks on. Oh well, live and learn. So i was super happy to find this vendor with an organic cold pressed version, and i was excited to see how fresh it was. I put a tablespoon in my bath at the end of it to moisturize everything. I rub some on my face and wipe it off with a steamy wash cloth to clean it without soap, and sometimes i take a teaspoon of this with my Turmeric supplement to assist in absorption and heal my tummy. The first bottle I received smelled very strongly like it may have been rancid or about to go rancid. The seller quickly sent me a new bottle which smells much better.Do not expect a Rosey scent out of this oil, it has more of a nutty aroma, but as you wear it on your skin it can begin to smell neutral to somewhat flowery.This oil works well. It has already improved the condition of my skin in just a few days. I have been suffering from hormonal acne due to pregnancy & this oil has helped my bumps go down and cleared the ones that were forming. It has also done wonders at making the skin on my face appear more firm and gives it that subtle glow 👌🏽.Also mixes great with other oils. I mixed this with Jojoba, olive, and apricot kernel oil to make a wonderful body oil that is very moisturizing and leaves my skin feeling wonderful!Overall this is a great product!! Although I initially loved this oil I was very disappointed to find it is completely rancid after only 18 months. A gallon of this should last considerably longer especially since I keep it in a very cool dark place. I just threw out about 1/3 of it. Won't purchase again. I can tell that this is a high quality rose hip oil. It absorbs into skin easily and has long lasting moisturizing effects. Only a tiny bit will go a long way with this oil. This has a fishy smell. It does not smell fresh like reviews indicated. I did not see an expiration date, so I am wandering if I received an old bottle. ? I use rose oil because most oils break out my skin. Never had a problem until I purchased this brand. I'm experiencing breakouts so I know this oil is cut with another cheap oil. Even the color is faint. I would like my money back... it leaves a canola oil scum on anything I touch after I apply this oil. That is not a characteristic of real rose oil. Read more
