Always using different things to treat a recurring back injury. This stuff works great, heats up quick and stays warm for a while. You can even use it with rocktape (apply before and after adding tape) and it last longer bleeding through the material.CAUTION!!!!! Absolutely one of my favorite pain relief items. I suffer from chronic pain and finding anything that works is a small miracle. I've been using BioFreeze for years. This stuff really gets down into the muscle and gives you relief. Tennis elbow, relieved. Bad knees, relieved. Bad Triceip, relieved. Has a stong smells, but goes away quickly. Will open up your nasal cavities! Can give a "burning" sensation, but didn't care because it helped with the pain. I bought this on the recommendation of my sister who heard about it from her acupuncturist. Because of a recent episode of blood clots in my leg and both lungs I am on blood thinners and can no longer use NSAD's for pain so have been searching for pain relief options. Such a great level of active ingredients and I expected it to work better than other store brands like Bengay, etc. Could NOT have been more wrong! This stuff is a big, fat waste of money. Not only is not twice as hot as "other" brands.....but it isn't even as hot as the others! I applied as directed and applied enough for it to work. Hardly felt it on my skin. Literally, feels like the most basic of menthol pain creams. After 4 minutes, the only way I knew it was on my body was that I could smell it. I was under the impression that Rock Sauce was only available to resellers like doctors and chiropractors. I bought some of the cream from my chiro as he had been using it on my arm/leg for some time and I begged to buy some. I never thought to look at Amazon. I LOVE this stuff! I love that I can put it on my self with no mess! Sure, I smell like a broken old woman the rest of the day, but it is SOOOOO worth it! My kids actually like the smell, which is helpful. Thank you for putting this in an easy to use format! One word of warning, please test with a small amount first. We found our daughter was highly allergic to it. We later found she's allergic to peppers. It does NOT detract from my rating as the rest of my family, including my son, use this without a problem. This stuff is the goods, as another reviewer said, you pretty much cant feel your legs at all after putting it on.
