Fracas is my signature scent, I've been wearing it for 16 years. This swill I received from Intelligent Beauty Supply is a cheap knockoff & sadly I knew it the moment I pushed the pump. It's not EDP it's not perfume at all it smells like furniture polish! I have purchased Fracas from Amazon once before & that seller, a different seller was selling the real thing. I won't take the chance again, I'll order from Nordstrom's it's a lovely distinct feminine scent. What I received is an attempt to capitalize on this lovely perfumes good name, don't be fooled. Buy elsewhere, buyer beware.Update: A couple of hours after spaying whatever this is on my skin, I now have a itchy red rash everywhere I applied it. I'm so angry. This is it - the queen of all tuberose perfumes, the benchmark against which all others are measured. If you like your fragrances to be shy and unassuming, then take a hard pass. Fracas is a diva, and if you don't have a bit of diva in you, she will wear you, not the other way around. Any lover of white florals, especially tuberose and gardenia, need to have this in their collection. I purchased Fracas on a whim after reading an article about it. It's fantastic. I certainly took a risk buying a fragrance that I couldn't smell in advance, but I am quite happy I did. The reviewers on Amazon describe the scent quite accurately. It is a heavy, thick fragrance, but not heavy or spicy like Opium. It's more like immersing oneself in a field of perfectly balanced flowers. It is altogether feminine but at the same time rich and sophisticated.You know how you sometimes go into a house, or open a box or cedar chest and there is an aroma about it? That is what Fracas is like. Imagine a 1600's French cottage that's been filled with tuberose and mixed, rich, flower scents for years, then vacated, yet the scent remains. I have worn Fracas for over 30 years. I’m 32 😉... not) It used to be carried regularly in Saks, now not. I even went to the Mother Ship in Paris, by the Ritz. (I thought it would be a great Paris souvenir to buy a special flacon. The parfumeur on my “Bonjour, Fracas, s’il vous plait?” responded in a tone of disdain of a quality unique to Parisians {who do not care what you think-why should they- they’re beautiful, elegant, dress exquisitely, and live in an unequaled world-class city) “Fracas? I had heard of this perfume and decided to buy it even though I had no experience of it. This is a rich, deep and unique fragrance popular in the 1940s and was worn by the elite. Re-introduced in the 1990,s this is in my opinion the jewel in the crown of perfume. I love it so much I have ordered three and have moved up to the 100ml. This is my signature fragrance now.
