Scrolling through Amazon in search of a waterproof eyeliner I came across this little gem. Why did I stop and open the ad? Because of the price and It claimed to be waterproof. Okay, fine I’ll try it. It’s only $4.00. It arrived in good condition and is as described in the ad. While it is waterproof it isn’t all that smudge proof. My allergies drive me bananas at times and leave me rubbing my eyes like a sleepy baby. My eyes can go from glamorous to raccoon in 3.2 seconds if I don’t use the right liner/mascara. My thoughts: It’s definitely worth the $4.00. It’s waterproof. Which is the whole point. So long as I don’t go to town rubbing my eyes like a nut, my makeup stays put just fine and looks great all day. That’s another thing, it doesn’t have to br reapplied through the day and doesn’t leave that line in any creases or fine lines around the eyes that some eye products do.It does have a sharpener so you can come at your eyes with sharper lines, but honestly, it's more for definition and blending than for harsh or defined lines. It’s great for the smoky look and blends well with the included blender tip or your finger. PROS:COLOR/PIGMENT - I am in my late sixties and still like DARK eyeliner, but not harsh. THAT'S difficult to find.What I LOVE about this eyeliner is that I can SMUDGE it when I first put it on (and I just do a thin line and just on UPPER eyelid). It's dark, but not harsh looking.STAYING POWER - For my upper lid, this works just fine. No raccoon eyes. But then I don't use a ton and I intentionally smudge it. I CANNOT speak for how it would be on the undereye along the water line.GLIDING POWER! - THIS WAS HUGE FOR ME. Having lids getting close to seven decades old, there is some wrinkling and they're just more sensitive. I had a pencil that was supposed to be really easy and supposed to glide on, NOT SO MUCH. This goes on as smoothly as I can expect from a pencil. (and I STILL like pencils for ease in putting on and staying power over liquids or gels)COST - IF you have priced eyeliner lately, NOT inexpensive and if you look at reviews as I DO, you can see where often three times more in price doesn't mean it's any better! This gives me WHAT I want for a great price.CONS: I have a steady hand and having been using eyeliner for decades, so don't have a problem. IF your lids are really wrinkled, your skin really thin/sensitive, your hand not overly steady, I would suggest a powder. Rimmel Exaggerate waterproof eyeliner is my favorite eyeliner. It is reasonably priced. It is easy to apply and stays on better than most other eyeliners I have used. I like that it never needs sharpening. However, if you wish to keep the tip in a precise point, a small, built-in sharpener is included. (I myself do not sharpen mine.) Despite it being called waterproof, I don’t find it to be. First off, I can wash it off while showering without using any type of makeup remover. Also, my eyes tend to water occasionally and I usually end up wiping some of it off when drying my eyes. Lastly, some of it does end up in the lid crease at times. But I would rather have that problem than have to struggle to remove the eyeliner (and lose an eyelash or two) as what happens with some of the other waterproof eye products. Would recommend. I bought this product [first] on a clearance sale at Walmart. I had never seen "copper" eye shadow before, so I thought I would try it. As a senior, I don't want to look ridiculous, but I found the color to highlight my hazel eyes amazingly! It goes on smoothly and doesn't pull on a wrinkly eyelid. It has just enough gloss to be soft looking without being too shiny. I wanted more to keep on-hand, but since it had been on clearance, I assumed I wouldn't be able to find it again in a store. Reading eye-liner reviews, it seems that the same eyeliner performs very differently on different people, even aside from how they want to use it. I have somewhat dry skin, and this Rimmel eyeliner goes on easily, although with a somewhat uneven line. It stays soft long enough to smoothly blend and shade the line then stays in place all day, even beneath the lower lid. No walking dead vampire eyes here! Read more

I honestly do not know why liners are called waterproof when they aren't. This one by Rimmel is NOT waterproof. I need a liner that will stay on not through swimming but just everyday summer stuff where perspiration or humidity may be an issue. I was hoping this one would be it but it isn't. I wore the liner yesterday to a pool party (I didn't go into the pool.) and it looked great when I first applied it. It was dark enough and it did glide nicely. I also like that it has a smudger at the end and a sharpener as well.But I noticed that it was fading after a few hours and, by the time I got home, it was gone. That would be about six hours. I didn't get wet but it was really hot outside and it was humid. The liner didn't drip down my face but it didn't stay put. Today, I applied it and let it set for an hour then put my face underwater to test it and it dripped down my face some. (Not like Alice Cooper with his makeup on but enough to give me dark circles.) I am disappointed. It is a decent liner for the price if you only need it to last a few hours and you don't get your face wet. I have loads of those though.
