I've been scouring the internet and rewatching a zillion X-Files episodes to get the perfect Dana Scully color, and it's unbelievably difficult to find the right shade. Toast of New York is a "classic" shade, like from OG 1950's or something, although I never saw it until the late 90's myself. I never would have worn a rusty brown color like this myself back then, but in an effort to channel my inner Scully, I've been trying to find the russet tones she sports on the show. This is not as orange as I had half-expected, although it is quite brown, and that's a hard shade to pull off in general. It's not 100% a Dana Scully color, but it's sort of in the right direction----there's something slightly off though. (It might be how her lipcolor always looks saturated yet sheer, like you can see her lip skin underneath the bold color.)In terms of texture, these lipsticks are pretty good. I've tried Toast of New York AND Rum Raisin (a deep rose brown), and the texture of both was the same--smooth, moisturizing, and with enough slip that they glide easily and don't stick your lips together. However, that "slip" comes at a price, which is that the color doesn't stick around long. It doesn't slide around so much as it just disappears by being licked off your lips as time goes by.I don't have time to keep reapplying lip color during the day, so while I like the creamy feel, these smooth and slippery lipsticks are not my top pick for daily wear. For the most part it's good. The formula makes it kinda streaky, so I'm sure if you get a different color, maybe lighter than the one I got, you'll definitely be able to see. Also it came like the pour for the batch had air pockets. But I can't com plain too much. I got it for $2 and some change. And even without a deal it's only like $4-$5 dollars. Finally! The perfect nude for me! I've seriously been looking for a good nude lipstick for like ten years. They're always too brown, too dark, too light, too pinky, too orangey, too cool, too warm-- too much one thing or another. Revlon finally made the perfect nude! It's my lip color but better and it wears perfectly. I'm definitely getting a few more tubes eventually, I never want to be without this color! FYI, I'm pretty pale with neutralish undertones? Tbh I'm not sure about my undertones. Peach looks awful on me, cool pinks clash on me, and browns also usually clash or look ashy on me. I think maybe I have slight neutral green undertones (?) as much of my family is medium olive, I'm just the pale one. Anyway, if you're confused about your undertones, too, and you can never find a good nude lipstick, this one might be perfect for you too.Edited to add one more picture, the first one made everything look a lot warmer than it actually looked, I think the second picture is a much better representation of the color. This is the lipstick I've been looking for all these years! It has a smooth feel but a matte finish, and it's the perfect nude shade for a MLBB look. Note: I'm kind of pale so most "nude" shades are too dark, but others are waaaay too pale because they're more meant for a "frosted" look. Read more

I came across these lipsticks when I found out Blushing Nude was being sold for around $2 on Amazon. After looking at reviews for these luscious lipsticks, I decided to try this one out ($2, come on).Well, this lipstick completely exceeded my expectations. The color is absolutely gorgeous and the second I put it on, I realized I would be buying multiple tubes of this color. It's a gorgeous rosey dark pink, but is brown in some lights. It's weird, but I love it so much. I wear it every other day and can't get enough of it! It's also surprisingly pretty long-lasting, and only comes off when I eat, but it's so easy to apply that I put it on like chapstick honestly. It also dries down to sort of a stain after a while, which is great because the color doesn't really fade! The packaging is adorable and really classy, with the black and gold colors. I'm really happy with this purchase (the only downside is this color went from $2 to $8 in a week T_T). I'll be purchasing more anyway, since I'm already halfway done with the tube. Read more

I am seriously disappointed. In order for my student's textbooks to arrive quickly, I asked my husband to use his Prime account and decided to top-up my fav lipstick at the same time. Delivery was lightning quick but after a very busy day, I have just opened my package to check out my two Revlon lipsticks in yesterday's package. I have been wearing the Revlon Super Lustrous in Black Cherry for years, literally years - I love the moisturising feel on my lips, it is a smooth glide on, it lasts all day (unless I eat) and the dark rich wine colour stands out on my brown complexion.But the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick, 4.2 g, Number 665, Choco-Liscious ... which, by any stretch of the imagination, is a shade of DARK BROWN, is a FARCE. No brown tint or colour at all. No stain. It is completely clear on my lips. The picture looks like a DARK BROWN lipstick. Its name suggests the same. The Product Description is generic and refers to the range as a whole so no help there. HOW have I paid £6 for a vaseline stick? This is NOT what I believed I was ordering.Either Amazon and/or Revlon need to reconsider the Trade Descriptions Act since they sell to the UK or the Seller of this lipstick, not Revlon, is a long way from authentic. I struggled to buy a lipstick in the right colour during the lockdown due to covid restrictions and no testers being available to look at or try. I resorted to buying on line and was pleased to find that this lipstick is true to the colour shown. It is also moisurising, a great price and very longlasting even when after wearing a facemask for several hours. I would definitely recommend this product and I will be buying it again! Read more

Rubbish! The product I received was not what I expected. I found there to be no colour in the lipstick when I applied it. It was just like putting on vaseline/ clear chopstick.
