Also known as 'antiquing wax', Retique It Dark Wax is a great way to give that piece an aged look. Apply the clear wax first then dark wax around areas you want to show aging like corners, details and edges. Then use the clear wax as an eraser to remove and blend the excess. You will find training videos on this at the official website.

We painted our kitchen cabinets with Rustoleum chalk paint, used a coat of this clear wax, then the dark wax in the same brand in the grooves and around the edges, then another coat of clear wax. The clear wax is used as an eraser to rub off areas of where your dark wax is too thick, and acts as a top coat. I bought 2 cans of clear wax and 1 can of dark for my kitchen cabinets. I ran out of clear and had to buy 3 cans of Behr brand wax carried at local store. The Behr brand was much smaller cans, was crumbly and fell off your rag making a mess all over the floor, which then was stepped on and was not easy to get out of the vinyl plank grooves in the floor. I gave up and ordered more RetiqueIt. Read more

I’ve spent this past winter remodeling my home office/apothecary. I have hand painted, then seal waxed, antique waxed, then buffed every piece of furniture in this room. It’s been exhausting, but worth it! This was my first time ever working with antique wax. I was a little nervous but read another review about waxing back off with clear wax if you mess up. That’s exactly what I did. I just went with it, waxing in and off until I was happy with the look. I love my new room and I’m the new champ of waxing on and waxing off. Miyagi-Do style! 😂 It only took one and a half of these little cans to do this entire room so they go along way as well. Read more

Other than the wood stain and the rub-on furniture transfer I have used ONLY Retique It products on this little table and I couldn't be more pleased! From the paints to the Liquid wood to the wax it transformed my shabby little well-used table into the eye-candy I was hoping to turn it into! I will proudly use this table in my library/home office and when some one asks me where I got it I'll say Retique It.Retique It rocks! Read more

I watched a ton of tutorials then took the dive. Picked up a $20 sad looking wood bookcase at a garage sale for my guinea pig test. Took about 3-4 hrs total. 3 coats of dove grey, then sand/scuff, 2 coats clear wax, one coat dark, buff buff buff, last coat of clear. Very happy with results. It went from a scratched stained dark wood bookcase to a totally upscale beauty! Super happy, will be looking for more furniture to paint now!Only thing I will say, wax stinks bad. Do it outside or in garage, and once you put clear coat down, work fast w dark wax, it dries fast. Read more

Easy to use, but did cause a notable difference in color. A darkening g and yellowing effect to the ivory tower. Note the top drawers [waxed] and the lower drawers [not waxed] . Disappointed in the color with the wax and now will have to remove the wax and repaint. Also a bit too expensive especially given that I now have to re-do it! Read more

Love this product. Just need a tad on a very small area to give you that rustic look. Clear wax first, then add the dark in small section and rub off with clear again. Just love it. Read more

The wax came fast but I don't think it's a good batch. I just opened the can and it was a mess. It's all separating and mush. Not what I was expecting or what I seen on your videos I'm super unhappy and bummed this clear wax came this way Read more

Opened up the container and tried to apply to my freshly painted cabinet product would not come out the wax was that hard. Put 3 drops of water on my brush to loosen the wax what little I got to come out of the container looks like pieces of a sponge brush stuck on the cabinet when I'm not even using a sponge brush. Using a round wax brush.. Now I have to sand and redo my cabinet. Thank heavens I tested this before applying to all my cabinets Read more
