I loved these rollers, until one day, they started to Arc and sparked. I contacted Remington, and they quickly replaced the unit. After using the new set for 5 months, it stopped working. Again, Remington quickly replaced them. I had been using the third set approximately 4-months, when, this morning, approximately 4-minutes after being plugged in, smoke began billowing out of the unit. I unplugged the set and ran it outside. Five of the hot rollers were literally melted, and my room now has a horrible smell. If I had left the room, I honestly think they would have burst into flames. This is three, separate units, that had the exact same problem. Remington is aware that there is a problem. I can only pray they recall and fix it, before someone gets hurt. Read more
I’ve tried at least 7 hairsetters over the past 5 years. My favorite was the T3 rollers, but it had drawbacks. The rollers get hot enough to burn your hands and it heated up almost instantly. They are expensive sets for 8 rollers (over $100) and the rollers themselves malfunction and you have to purchase replacement rollers at $10-$15 per roller. I had to purchase 8 rollers across 9 months. This set heats reasonably quickly, is reasonably priced, and has a great design. It fits easily on the side of your sink or vanity. Has good clips that hold well. Good number of rollers. Gets hot but not so hot it burns your fingers. Since the clips and the rollers both heat, you get more even results. I recommend this set over almost all others, especially steam and plastic roller sets. Read more
I absolutely love these hot rollers and couldn't be happier with my purchase. One of the tricks that my hairstylist did on my wedding day is spray a little hairspray on my hair first before applying hot rollers and the result was fantastic, so that's what I do now as well and it never fails, a little goes a long way so don't overspray! I finish off with a little hair oil for shine and the curls last for at least 2 days. Read more
I bought one in Feb/2017 (for $33.48, btw) and love it. I have long straight fine hair, and it leaves my hair very soft; it hold well, unless it's very humid or windy. (I got rid of my Caruso steam-type setter that I used for years.) I keep it in the product box and even take it travelling.I really needed more of the 'large' purple (1-1/4") rollers, bc the 'medium' pink (1") give too tight a curl for me. I went to the Remington site to order more, but here's the problem: they only come in sets of 12 and the rollers and clips are sold separately! With buying 12 each, plus tax and shipping, my total would have been just $3.00 less than buying a whole new unit from Amazon, which I did a week ago (for $26.79). Read more
I read all of the reviews and decided to give these a try. I have used hot rollers off an on for years and after trying to grow my hair longer this year found I need something to give my hair some "oomph" or more body. I have fine hair, but a lot of it, and it tends to go flat and not hold a curl unless with a lot of hair spray or product. The rollers seem to heat up quickly, though mine did take a bit longer than advertised. I gave it a good 10 minutes before rolling. It is nice that they have a power light to show they are on, but what would be helpful is a light to show when they are fully heated and ready to use. I didn't have any trouble taking them out, the clips are attached and you just lift them out, then remove the clip and roll. There is a slit in the center of the roller and when you are done you just put the clip back on and line the slit up and slide them down. I did have a little bit of trouble the second time, but it is not a big deal. I really liked these and they were easy to use and stayed attached to my hair. When I took them out I ran my fingers through my hair and did not spray to see how they would hold. I got a lot of body that held without hair spray. These may not be the best choice if you are looking for a lot of tight curls, but great for loose curls and body. Read more
Not terrible. Didn't create the soft perfect curls I had hoped for. Not too hot to handle with bare fingers, so that's a plus. But, I have trouble getting my hair to grab on to the velvety part to bring rolling. Also, there were not enough big curlers - but I also have A LOT of hair. I think these would be perfect for someone with either courser hair, or not super thick hair. I bet with the right hair, these would rock. I just had a so-so experience. Maybe they should be hotter...but I know people don't want to burn their hair. I think it was just my hair type that makes these not awesome. Don't regret purchasing because I think I will get better at using. Read more
Am pleased with how well and quick to heat these larger diameter hot curlers work.Have almost shoulder length finer but somewhat wavy hair. I leave the curlers in 10-15 minutes (until cooled). If taken out before cooled, there's not much effect.4/5 stars due to clips. They due tend to leave a "crimp" on the rollers on top of my head, if not extremely careful. The "U" shaped pins from my (35 year) old Miss Clairol hot rollers work better.BTW, the Miss Clairol rollers still work well, just too small and leave a very tight curl. Love the upright size of the set and the curlers are great but there is a big problem getting the curlers off and back on the heating rod! It's very frustrating and time-consuming . I would consider it a considerable design flaw. If you don't want the struggle of working the curlers off and on and are looking for curlers that slide quickly off and on with ease pass on this set! Read more
I was cheated !!! I was supplied a unit which required input voltage of 120 VAC. It was not mentioned in the listing that the voltage will be 120. The unit failed after few days. Didn’t realise why it failed. Bought a second one and it failed too.. after closer inspection I discovered that I have been fleeced !!! The supplied unit is of 120 V whereas in India it should be 220/230 V Read more
Read more
Read more
