I have been using this product for years. I wear a night guard at night and this is used during the day to clean it. I simply sprinkle a small amount onto the retainer when I take it out in the morning and cover it with water. It sits in water all day and I rinse it off at night before I reapply it. This product is better than other products like it, which I have tried, because it doesn't have a heavy bleach taste or smell or any taste that is left over once it is rinsed off. Other products leave a potent taste even when rinsed off, and sometimes even a film. There is very little smell to this cleaning product other than the initial mint smell that it gives off when you initially apply it to the retainer. It has not weakened to the retainer. My daughters and I use this product to clean our retainers and nightguards. It is gentle enough to use daily. I put my nightguard in its washing container every morning, add a scant half-cap of cleaner and leave it to soak until bedtime. Rinse under running water and it's ready to use again. I first used this product in 2004 on my retainer. I'm now doing the Clear Correct system, which is very similar to Invisiline. It worked so great! I've been using this product for years to clean my retainers. It's much more convenient than brushing the retainer with toothpaste, which I read can scratch the surface. I pour about a half capful, mix it with enough water to cover my retainers in a small designated cup (not the same one I use to rinse my mouth since Kleenite leaves a soapy residue), and let it sit for about 10 minutes while I finish my bedtime routine. I use this to clean my Invisalign retainers which I only wear overnight. Take them out of my mouth in the morning and store them for the day in water and this product. Kleenite is small granules, almost the consistency of kosher salt. I place one capful of Kleenite in a small plastic container with warm water every morning to soak my retainers. My orthodontist was shocked when he saw that my retainers are almost six years old and look new! When I travel I measure out the amount of Kleenite powder I'll need by the capful into a small rubbermaid container and I keep an extra bottle cap to store with the Kleenite just for this purpose.
