As seen in the photo, these are clearly two different products. I've used the shampoo for years and the minty-green (not the puke green) is the one that makes your hair full and does what it's supposed to do. The other does absolutely nothing. I'm not sure if it's just a bad batch or just this seller is swapping product - but I've had at least two of these shampoos be the "spearmint green" rather than the original formula. I used this product for one year and it only made my hair fall out even more. Every time I would apply it as directed on the bottle, I would see a bunch of hairs on my hands. With ordinary shampoos, I would only see a couple of hairs on my hands. With this one, I would see at least 25. This happened every day. I thought it was temporary, so I continued using the product. Unfortunately, it kept happening with each use. There wasn't any hair growth or even maintenance. All I experienced was shedding. It's unfortunate because this shampoo should work on paper. It has saw palmetto, linolenic acid and other DHT blockers. Although, maybe it's the drug ketoconazole that's making things worse. Since this shampoo contains that drug, the back of the bottle should contain the standardized drug facts label on the back, but oddly, it doesn't.This shampoo is also extremely expensive. It's $25 plus tax for a measly 8 oz. They also want you to purchase the $25 conditioner.Another thing I hated about this shampoo is that it made my scalp dry and itchy. Read more

I've been using this product for over 5 years and never once had a problem until my last order. The color has now changed from a blue/green to a green/yellow color, its got a different scent and doesn't lather well anymore. Anyhow my hair did not agree with this new formula so I've had to make a switch. The new stuff, unfortunately, doesn't seem to have the same quality it had previously and made me question if it still actually contained keto due to the lack of blue in its new color. Any hair loss shampoo or topical hair growth leave-in says the same thing: that it can help grow hair OR prevent future hair loss. I still have some hair on my head. But it's tough to definitively attribute it to this shampoo.This product is a minty, translucent blue offering a pleasing tingling sensation without drying out hair strands. But again, that doesn't mean it grows or retains hair. I recommend it tepidly on the grounds that it *may* be doing something, and that we *should* do everything we can; same reason I use Minoxidil, and the same reason I take vitamin supplements. But does it mean that I've seen hair noticeably growing? I ordered this shampoo after combing the internet for a medicated shampoo to combat dandruff that didn't have sulfates or parabens. The fact that this shampoo has the same concentration of medication as Nizoral (a highly recommend OTC dandruff shampoo) without the harsh sulfates made me give it a shot. HOLY MOLY! I've used the shampoo twice since I've received it, and I literally have no large flakes. A week ago, I couldn't even braid my hair because the flakes were so bad and apparent, and now there's literally nothing. Even the super irritated large inflamed skin patches are hardly there, and they've been red and gross and itchy for months. This is an amazing product. I know it's marketed for hair regrowth or whatever, but WOW does is do wonders for severe dandruff. Plus it leaves your hair so smooth and soft! Love it! Read more

I've had the same experience as other reviewers. This shampoo no longer works as well as it used to. When I first discovered it, it was extremely effective at eliminating dandruff without any of the harsh ingredients often found in other dandruff shampoos. My dandruff suddenly came back lately after a couple years of being gone and it made me curious whether there were any formulation changes. I was experiencing very noticeable hair-loss prior to using this shampoo. My stylist was concerned I was thinning and I even cut my hair short to mask it. Both she and my dermatologist guided me to use a shampoo with Ketoconazole. I tried several brands, and stuck with this one because it was the only one that really worked AND was cosmetically elegant: lathered well, kept my hair soft, didn't fade color, smelled really nice. Some of the formulations I tried smelled like flea dip and made my hair feel like straw. It's not drugstore cheap, but I make it work. I noticed fallout begin to lessen with the 1st bottle. No, the regrowth was not overnight. I've been consistently using this brand of shampoo for nearly 2 years. My hair is now back to the thickness I had as a child. So thick my stylist uses thinning shears on my layered cut. She is very impressed with how well the shampoo and conditioner from this line have worked for me. Nothing falls out when I wash my hair in the shower. I have been to an endocrinologist and confirmed that my hair-loss was not do to hormonal imbalances, deficiency, aging (I am only just in my 30's) or hereditary. I have confirmed with a dermatologist that I did not have a scalp disease. I can't tell you what was causing the hair-loss exactly, but it's totally gone now. I do notice the results are not great and I will start to get mild shedding if I switch to a new shampoo for a few weeks. I found another shampoo without any harsh chemicals for less than half the price of this product. I still kept losing hair after using this for few weeks and noticed also that it is not sulfate-free as it is advertised. Not worth the money, in my opinion. Read more

This is no miracle product BUT ketoconazole has been shown to help remove DHT from the scalp and the saw palmetto also has some clinical research to back its efficacy. I would recommend anyone using this for hair-loss use this in conjunction with Nioxins system conditioner (It contains peppermint oil which is a vasodilator and shown to help with hair-loss) then on top of that a based Minoxidil product. This alone will probably not deliver the results people are looking for (as they are unrealistic) but used in conjunction with the previously mentioned products I personally have seen results I am happy with and reversed the amount of loss from MPB I have experienced. This is the second time I've purchased this item. It is NOT a magic product that will suddenly return all of your hair.But it certainly DOES work in improving hair quality, improving longevity of hair, (perhaps) stimulating new hair growth,but CERTAINLY slows hair loss.In my particular experience, I believe that my hair loss was due to using the wrong shampoo. During the day, I'd sweat andmy scalp would become a little bit greasy. If my shampoo was not effective in removing this grease, it would eventually clogand plug pores / follicles, and this is what my hair loss was coming from.When I switched to this brand, I noticed a considerable difference in my hair quality. You only need a very small amount, and it refreshes and cleans your scalp with a nice minty feel. Follow the instructions - put it in your hair and leave it for the entire duration of your shower. Get deep on your scalp for best results.In terms of value, it's a great product. It's not obscenely expensive, especially considering how very little you need to use for it to be effective. My hair started thinning after college and while I still have a full head of hair, its not what it used to be. I have tried a number of different hair loss shampoos and conditioners and this one did the best job at making my hair look more full. The Regenpure products are a little pricey compared to some of the alternatives, but its probably worth it if you want to sustain your hair as long as possible. This absolutely nuked my hair follicles, made them frizzy and dry, and weak to the point that I think they were falling out more from how dry it was. I suspect this is from the ketoconazole (which is the main ingredient which stops hair loss in it) If you buy this, I would recommend using a lot of conditioners and also a leave-in conditioner. I would say buying regular ketoconazole will work the same for 1/3 of the price, and dry your hair out less than this will. Would not recommend. Read more
