I accidentally ended up owning two of these when I thought I lost the first one and bought it again, then found the first. And 2 has been perfect! Since they look identical to each other and my daughter only thinks we have one, she puts her tooth in one box under her pillow and the other I keep in a separate secret drawer to put money in. The tooth fairy makes a quick exchange of one box for the other, so no fumbling in the dark. One night, the tooth fairy almost got busted, but was able to make a quick exchange even with an awake but not particularly observant child. I bought a different product with separate slots for each tooth to store all the teeth. This is not a storage box. This silver “box” for lack of a better word, is shallow and lined with blue velvet but easily holds any one of the 7 baby teeth lost so far. So far we have been doing $1 per number of teeth lost (so $1, $2, $3, $4, $5, $6, and $7 so far). Which means I have found that one or two bills folds up easily into a square in this box, but three to five bills folded up was thick enough to cause stress on the clasp on one box and and it won’t shut tight anymore. Wish I hadn’t forced it, and not sure if $9 folded up would fit in or not. But now one has a working clasp and the other closes but doesn’t lock tight. Still serves its purpose. My daughter just lost tooth #7 tonight at 2 am, and she stuck her box under her pillow after waking us to let us know. It is always so nice to go up and see the little star on the ribbon hanging out from the pillow. No fumbling around trying to find it. I just grabbed it, exchanged boxes, and booked it out of her room. If you go with under-the-pillow tooth transactions, I can’t think of an easier way to do it. Read more

The tooth locket is sweet and magical. My daughter was elated to use it, and put it under her pillow for the first time. My only complaint was that it was too shallow. It closed for her first baby tooth, but her second baby tooth was slightly larger and we had to work to angle it just right to get it to snap shut. It was also a struggle to close it with the $1 coin the tooth fairy put in place of the tooth. If this locket was just a little deeper, it would be perfect. Read more

I expected it to be able to hold all a child's baby teeth. It said 1/2 inch deep. However the entire thing isn't that deep, only the center and inside doesn't come out to use all available space, and even if it did, I don't think it would hold all the baby teeth. The previous style Reed and Barton tooth fairy box was approx. 1 inch deep and opened like a bon bon tin container. It held all of my childs baby teeth. I do like the attached cord and star which I had planned to have engraved with the childs name. I guess it is only for holding one tooth at a time and putting under pillow for the tooth fairy. I really wish the older style was available. Read more

This is a lovely little keepsake trinket that I purchased as a gift. I was very happy with the quality of the overall product. The compact is quite solid and will last through little one's handling. Even the cord is of a higher grade than what I had expected, with a fair enough length to allow for star to easily lay beyond pillow. The most pleasant unexpected surprise of this trinket is that the back of the little star is flat, and of heavy enough to easily be engraved (which I have done post-purchase). Read more

I enjoyed giving the tooth fairy box as a unique gift at a baby shower. It was packaged nicely and loved by the receiver. Wish I had known about this when my granddaughter was with me. It is a beautiful keepsake that can be used for many years on those special nights when the tooth fairy comes to collect the teeth. Read more

My grandaughter loved the box but was very disappointed that it is too shallow to hold a tooth. The description is inaccurate. We are keeping it because it looks so magical but it is not as described. If you are looking for something pretty to hold a tooth this isn't it. Read more

Delivery took longer than expected. Quality of the product is less than expected for the price. the latch doesn't hold well and the two clam shells don't sit flat. Seem cheep quality for the price. Read more
