Works better than anything else I've used. My hair holds a style for a long time, much than longer than mousses, gels, sprays, whatever. The volume stays there, too. Some reviewers have complained about the way it dispenses, and yes, it is a little tricky. It does take a little getting used to. I learned to hold my palm very close to the spout while pressing quickly with the opposite palm. Do not hold down the dispenser button more than a second. 2 yrs ago my favorite hair volumizer was discontinued. I have been so upset with my hair since then. Not to mention the money I have spent on products that don't do the job. Last week, I finally realized that the redkin 10 product was for medium volume which led me to explore and I find this. Awesome for baby fine hair!!! I have shoulder length hair. I use a big blob of the product after I put a little sea salt spray on the roots. I use it on the roots and all over. I blow dry the top of my hair forward and side to side and then flip upside down and then style. I use a lot- so it felt a little sticky and I was afraid I had used too much, but not the case. To set a little curl or get an area of hair to go a certain way, I use a little boost spray gel in area I want to curl and wind it around a round brush. This product was recommended by my hairdresser, and I found that it works well on my hair. It is, as it says on the can, a high hold "gel to mousse". Unfortunately, however, the last can had a defective cap - when I pressed the cap to release the gel the cap came off. It is with considerable difficulty that I am able to get any product at all from this can. I'm going to purchase this again (perhaps it was a fluke that I got a faulty can), but if the problem continues of course I will discontinue using and find an alternate mousse. I read about this in Oprah's magazine. I'm 67 years old, very pale complexion, and grey & white hair. My "original" hair during my lifetime was always naturally blonde (and natural blondes have thinner hair shafts to begin with). Now, as I've aged, the strands are thinning (I HAD a lot of strands so it looked thick & full) and needed to find a way to accomplish this. Thought about going red (which would look natural with my white complexion & thicken up the strands) but decided to try this first (a whole lot less upkeep & a whole lot less money). It works well. I have very fine but wavy, long hair. I was pretty much devastated when redken stopped making their bodyfull volumizing mousse liquid but I have to say this stuff actually works even better--especially on my roots, although it also works to work in lightly all the way to the ends. I mostly use products like these to put in my semi-wet hair, tousle and then go. This works best for me when I let my hair get almost half dry, tousle once and then let my hair dry completely and THEN scrunch up my roots. I love this product! It gives my fine hair more body. I also like how the can dispenses a gel and it turns into a foam in seconds when you work it through your hands and fingers. It’s not too heavy either. My cosmetologist recommended this product for my fine hair. I was purchasing it from her until I found it on Amazon. The price is so much better than my salon, too. This has literally transformed my extremely fine, straight, limp hair OMG I LOVE IT! It is so good my hairdresser asked me what I was using as my hair was so different, now she is using it and recommending it to everyone. The pump does not dispense a huge amount as said in another review. Yes, it delivers a set amount but that is a small blob, looks too small but I have medium length hair and it is perfectly adequate. A bottle lasts for ages so well worth the money. Keeps body and style in for days. Honestly, I now have the hair I have always wanted using this mousse along with the Redken 15 backcombing hairspray and Sebastian Microfibre (also the 2 most incredible products I have ever used). A good product. However, as other customers have noted, there is something wrong with the delivery of the product. It is impossible to dispense the amount you need. However much you try to just depress the pump just a little, a huge amount comes out and you end up just washing your hands to get rid of the excess. I have tried all sorts of ways to get just a little out - not successful. Yes, of course I know how to use a pump dispenser! Will not buy again. I use many Redken products. They are expensive.
