I always feel stupid when falling for false advertisements like the one shown on TV about the “Redken Color Extend Blondage Color Depositing Purple Conditioner” and shampoo. I followed the instructions, but no results whatsoever. I even kept the shampoo and conditioner in for 5 min each, but my hair looks just as brassy. I don’t know why this product work on some, and others not (referring to reviews on this website). I am glad I purchased the smallest of the bottles only. When I get my hair done, I want my color to last as long as possible. Which means investing in good shampoo and conditioner as well as any other products. My hair stylist recommended Redken color extend conditioner for me to use after getting highlights. I had been using color extender shampoo by Treseme, but this really helped prolong my color! Before the color faded after about two weeks and progressed until not much was left at four weeks. Once I started using this my color could extend even longer, and it left my hair feeling softer. Another problem I had from highlighting my hair has always been the ends are fried and split from the hair coloring, blow drying, straightener, and curling iron all putting chemicals or heat on it. This really helps keep split ends from forming and from getting fried while at the same time protecting the color in your hair. My hair is so soft after using this. It isn't expensive at all for shampoos but it is worth it. It is fairly thick when you squeeze the amount in your palm and is washed out in the shower not left in. My stylist comments on how my platinum highlights "keep" from visit to visit, so I have to think this conditioner is helping to prevent brassiness. I love Redken products and have been using them for years. But heavy scent of Redken Blondage is almost a deal-breaker for me-- I only use the purple conditioner (along with Blondage shampoo--same issue but slightly different scent) once a week so I will use it until it's gone, but I may look for another product after that because if *I* can still smell my hair at the end of the day, you know it's strong enough for others to smell. Little pricey, but good quality. If I use it too often it’ll turn my blonde purple, but that is normal. I have super thick hair that’s corse. My stylist usually calls it a lions mane. I’m one of those people that don’t have to wash my hair for 4ish days. But even using it every 3-4 days it’ll still turn purple from using it too often. So I usually do every other wash. Read more

It’s a great product, the bright purple shocks you at first! I shampoo in then leave it in for a minute before rinsing it out. My hairdresser recommended it and it certainly keeps the blond looking strong! Read more
