Just washed about 50 makeup brushes and two beauty sponges.The cleansing gel removed all traces of powder without a problem.It didn't perform well to remove liquid, creams, or gels (foundation, concealer, liner) off my sponges or brushes. It also did not damage my bristles and did a great job getting all the grime out of my beauty blenders. First wet your brush liberally, and I find that if you dab your brush bristles around on something like your hand that works the product into the brush to release the makeup and dirt. You can twist the bristles around the palm of your hand and that works the product into it. I then rinse and continue to massage the bristles. I actually find you need two applications of the product to get the best results but that also depends on how much foundation product is in the brush. A little goes along way with this product! This stuff doesn't work well for foundations. Won't clean the brush (or the scrub pad I have) properly. Pitty because I bought this only for my foundation brushes. I bought this because I thought a solid cleanser would be more economical than a gel, and turned out to be wrong. I actually *like* RTs brush cleansing gel, and ended up using that to wash the residue this left out of my brushes. It almost always left some staining, and always left residue especially on tighter packed brushes. Will not be repurchasing. Read more

I don't care for the fragrance it leaves in my brushes as most fragrance gives me issues with my allergies, I doing I had to use a lot of the product to get my brushes clean vs the bar type soaps I usually use on them. I heard people rave about it and figured I would give it a try. Its okay. I would not rebuy it. I don't think there needs to be any fragrance added to something that is supposed to sanitize your makeup brushes. Just like it does not belong in skincare or makeup either. Read more

Love this cleanser from RT! They have a new one out that’s in a clear bottle and that one is no bueno! The smell to the new one is awful and leaves my brushes feeling weird. I’ve been using this original cleanser forever and it’s by far my favorite and the smell is so gentle and smells good! Also, comes sealed so you know product is legit and hasn’t been tampered with. I used this on one single powder brush and nothing. Didn't get even a little bit clean. I did it again. Then again. I was already using quite a bit of gel - at least a teaspoon each time. I decided the rest was going in the garbage in any case so I did one final try with literally half the bottle and it still did not clean my one single brush. Read more

Absolutely brilliant cleanser. I'm surprised it has any negative reviews.I regularly clean my brushes so the majority of them aren't heavily soiled between washes, but this cleaner is excellent. I use expensive brushes and don't trust using just anything on them but his came recommended to me by a friend and I'm so glad I tried it. It's much cheaper than my usual brand and does the same job. The cleanser has a lovely aroma which leaves my brushes smelling so fresh. It made quick work of even my foundation brush without the need for too much soaking. It leaves brushes soft and super clean, even white coloured bristles are left looking new.I have sensitive skin and often break out in spots if using harsh chemicals, but this hasn't given me any cause for concern. it does an okay job of cleaning my brushes but tbh i've been using Fairy Washing up Liquid up until now and that does an even better job than this gel.It's okay for my smaller brushes but for my foundation and concealer brushes it just isn't enough so i'll be sticking with Fairy. it's cheaper as well Read more

This is a really simple to use make up brush cleaner. The lid clips shut and you can easily squeeze out just the right amount needed depending on your brush size. It cleans my brushes beautifully so they look brand new each time. I like that it smells nice but not overly perfumed and there's no chemical smell at all. I think it's really good value and fits nicely inside my bathroom cabinet. Will definitely buy again, but a little goes a long while, so hopefully I won't need it again for a while! Read more

It works, kind of. I have been buying the spray from Superdrug before this, their own brand, and thought this would work but it isn't any less effort but costs twice the price. I would buy it again if there was nothing else out there, but it hasn't cleaned my brushes and takes a few washes till they are done. I love this. I bought this as my second bottle, my first bottle I'm still using and I've had it nearly four months with me cleaning my brushes every week and I own a lot of makeup brushes. This cleaning product makes my brushes come out like brand new. There is a light fragrance when I'm cleaning the brushes but once they are fully dry, there is no fragrance which is perfect. Read more
