I have worn Safari for nearly 25 years. My wife bought this for me last year and I was immediately suspicious when the label on the bottle fell off and the cap didn't fit properly. Upon putting some on, it smelled different and seemed to be a very watered down version of the product. It was weak and did not last no matter how much I applied. At first I thought it was just me, but when my wife mentioned it didn't smell the same it was obvious we had been swindled. AMAZON needs to crack down on this kind of crap. Buyers beware, there are a LOT of misleading advertisements on this site these days. Many "Made In America" items are actually made in China and falsely advertised. I was looking forward to receiving this as I haven't been able to get the Safari Aftershave in years. It arrived in a nice neat box and when I opened it I sprayed a little on my arm and went in with my nose to hopefully enjoy the fragrance. Well it didn't smell very good but I figured I would try it again in the morning after a fresh shower and a clear sniffer. Sprayed some on my arm and same thing. I have had this cologne in the past, in which I purchased at a department store. The item I purchased Amazon.com and was Prime eligible. This item is a counterfeit and knockoff. The scent was not as strong and did not have the longevity of the actual cologne. The emblem on the front of the bottle was plastic and did not have the Ralph Lauren logo embedded. On top of the cap was a brown sticker, when the real item has a cap with in-laid wood.The price wasn't even discounted to represent a "Ralf Loren" knockoff cologne. Upon receiving this purchase I compared it to Safari products which I bought about 10 years ago -- i.e. cologne and after shave. The comparison was not favorable. My earlier purchases had a light oak color, whereas the new purchase looks like it has a touch of carrot juice or some sort of orange hue. The fragrance itself reminded me of Safari, but was clearly inferior to my earlier purchases. I am neither a chemist nor a fragrance expert, but what I can tell you is that I won't be buying any more of this product. I've used Lauren and Romance from RL. This is my first time using Safari. I like it a lot. It's more earthy smell. Not as sweet as the others mentioned. I'll buy anything RL.
