I've been using safety razors now for about five years. And during this time I have been looking for the perfect razor for me. Now, if you are new to the whole wet shaving thing you need to understand that not all razors will work the same for everyone, nor blades, not soap and so on. So even great products with impeccable reputation might not be right for you.During this time I have tried over five vintage Gillette razors, an Edwin Jagger, Lords, several off brand Russian and Chinese razors and a couple of Merkurs. Some great some not so much. I decided to give this Qshave a try since reviews were so favorable and the price was so low, and for me this is the best bang for your buck. Actually, it has given me the best shave I've ever gotten from a safety razor. The construction of this thing is solid and precise. The one I received aligned the blade perfectly and I did not had to fiddle with it. Although some may find the handle a bit short, it is good enough for daily use. Besides, only a few razors out there will bring a longer handle out of the box. The finish is second only to the Edwin Jagger I own, which is almost a work of art. It closed very secured and although not a heavy razor, it hold its own against other similar razors. Certainly heavier than most other far east, Lord, and bakelite models I've used.Where this thing shines is where you need it, the shave. Although not aggressive by any mean, it whacked my coarse beard clean with absolutely no irritation. For me it stroke the perfect balance and I could not believe it did such a wonderful job shaving without the slightest sensation of burn. I must be clear and point out I did not use the provided blades and opted for my regular Wilkinson blades. But compared to all the razors I've used with this same blade, this one jumped atop of the list and will continue to be my go to razor even over razors more than five times the price. Well done! I used disposable blades for a long time. When I tried this razor, I was pleasantly surprised getting a much closer shave than disposable blades. Also, after using it for a while, disposable blades always get hair and soap stuck in the blades and it is hard to clean it. With this razor blade, one can just unscrew the base and wipe away cut hair and residue, completely cleaning it. One can also flip the blade, to get 2x use. Since the blades are a lot cheaper (cents vs dollars) than disposable blades, this is so much cheaper, gives closer shave, and also cleaner. I was a little worried about rusting or threads wearing out, but I have used this for a few months, shaving daily, and there is no sign of rust, and handle threads appear as good as new. I would have bought this decades ago, if I knew this was this good. The only thing to be careful is, one should not apply to much pressure and one need be little bit careful about the angle of razor, to avoid cut. Razor is not as idiot proof as disposable razors and behaves more like a knife. Read more

I was looking for a smaller, lighter safety razor to use on my underarms. The one for my legs is longer-handled and significantly heavier; and I grew concerned that I might cut myself one day due to the increased awkwardness of shaving one's underarms. I did consider that I was simply justifying a desired purchase but once I used it, wow! It's a quicker, more pleasant experience. Since it's lighter, I haven't perfected getting the closest shave but I'll get there; and in the meantime, I don't have to stress about cutting myself. Lesson learned! Always consider the weight of a razor and how that might impact your shaving. Read more

Update#2: I'm done with Qshave. I ordered a 2nd razor after the replacement of my first defective razor is OK but the third one is being returned because on one side of the razor, the blade doesn't sit flush in the cap. The blade ends bend down as if there isn't enough space for the blade. I tried a couple different blades and same thing. I suggest if you own this razor look close and see if you're blade ends are bowing down. I am also returning their adjustable razor because of uneven blade reveal...sad but true.Update: I was promptly provided a replacement razor and the new one is what I was hoping for. It is all in alignment and gives a better (little more aggressive) shave than my Weishi butterfly razor. I'm going to order a 2nd one soon because they are compact, solid and just a tad bit aggressive.I was looking for a smaller and inexpensive DE razor for travel. I like everything about this razor except one of the most important things is a problem. With or without a blade installed, you can visibly see that one side does not present the blade/blade opening in an parallel manner with the comb/safety guard and top cap. The gap between the blade and the comb isn't even across the length of the blade. It is so much so, it is noticeable with the naked eye. The one side is visibly good (pic 1) but one side is not (pic 2). In the 2nd pic the gap is narrower on the left side. Read more

This safety razor is awesome. I will say that screwing it back together, you have to make sure to align it well, but overall it's great. It serves its purpose and comes with blades. Try a safety razor if you want to stop using plastic shavers. It is super hard to actually cut yourself with these. I have only cut myself when I was not paying attention or my hand slips horizontally on my leg. Note to Females: Safe for underarms, pubic area and lower (with a lot of caution), and legs. Read more

Simple, feels good. No manufacturer defects to my perception.I liked it so much I bought my brother one.Too much coffee trying to shave perhaps ( it didn't go well for him).Well, I love mine.Paired with 100 shark blades $6 I have been using the same razor for almost a year now.No perceivable corrosion or any reason why I should spend more money on another. I was not expecting much from this having seen reviews of ones costing £60+ and been advised that only the top names like Merkur and Edwin Jagger would be good enough - Some people really do believe all the marketing and posh names because this razor is just as good as Merkur or Jagger. How do I know - Well, my brother has both and we both tested this and he agrees and says its just as good as his designer DE razors, so do not pay more for your razor - It is just three pieces of metal after all and if it is engineered well enough there is not really much difference between a £60+ razor and this one whatever the so called "experts" say, so do not be conned by big names and the many false reviews on the metrosexual snobby razor review sites.Thankfully I did not and this razor matches the shave I have gotten with any of the 5 blade razors i have as well as a Merkur 34c and an Edwin Jagger DE89, so I have ordered up 100 premium DE blades and am now converted to DE shaving along with its massive savings on the ripoff prices blades are charged at these days.I got a Box of Premium Derby Tokai 100 double edge blades here on Amazon for less than a tenner and along with this excellent well tooled and tight fitting blade holder should last me over a year in shaves and save hundreds of pounds in blades.First off - with a De razor you can always tell how good it is by the weight and the the way the head grips the blades with a slight curve and this does both - It has quite a heavy and quality feel to it - the blades fit well and for my first DE shave in 10 years I did not nick myself even once so all in all this one is a full 5 star review as it surpasses my expectations and will now save me a fortune in blades! For once cheap is definitely cheerful and a real money saver in these hard times! This is a lightweight 3 piece razor, which does a good job, but in a weird way. I have 2 other de razors so I think I can provide a fair assessment. When assembling the head with blade attached it all looks as expected. I use a hot towel process to soften my stubble and make my skin a bit more pliable then use a brush with shaving soap. All went well, very well in fact. Smooth, silk like gliding across my skin. A quick rinse and repeat. That's when the weird kicked in. Still smooth but now the cutting action felt more agressive. Quick rinse, more soap, back to a mild cut. I discovered that one side of the head had a nice mild shave whilst the other provided a more aggressive shave. When I examined the head I could see the blade geometry difference. Quite honestly I feel I have 2 razors for the price of one. It's either a slightly off geometrically balanced head or a work of genius, not sure, but it's a super shave. Just be aware. No nicks, cuts, abrasions, blood loss, razor burn or bumps. Just a nice smooth shave.Update: I have now managed to bring this razors aggression down to something VERY similar to my Edwin Jagger razor by placing a shim under the top cap. This has resulted in greater symmetry between the two cutting sides. Is it the same as my EJ, no, it's close though and MUCH cheaper. Fantastic 2nd razor. Read more

Had this for 3 months, with Derby blades. Bought under lockdown as a cheap replacement for disposables. Well made and had no faults in construction or finnish, just old tried and tested tech. It's a long time since I've used a double edge razor and it does require a bit more patience. But the shave is easily as good as a premium price disposable and possibly better than most, although not as quick. In some areas it is much better than a chuck away razor for instance precise sideburns and close to nose/nostrils. Well worth the money I paid and I'm probably going to continue with it on a daily basis. For best results I found 1 blade gave 2 shaves. Read more

Great value and doesn't show too much of the blade, but shows enough to give a clean shave of wherever you use it. Read more

I have an Edwin Jagger that fell to bits when the threads stripped. I bought this to try a different one without spending a lot and I'm impressed. It feels good in the hand and locks the blade well. I recommend anyone to buy, even the packaging is top quality. Read more
