Per the instructions, I did a strand test and did not see any problem. Then proceeded to follow instructions and left this shampoo on for 15 minutes and followed up with conditioner for 3 minutes. I have now washed my hair five times with regular shampoo and can not get the lavender grey out. Even my scalp is spotted purple. needless to say my hair is now dried out and not silky or shiny as was advertised. I am in panic mode. This product has ruined my beautiful gray hair. Read more

Only left on 5 mins! Don’t panic the purple on the hands will wash or fade. I used gloves but that was from me touching it after 2 mins. My blonde takes fast on the ends, so if you do all over start at roots. Leave on roots first for 3-5 mins then work towards the ends. If a highlighted blonde it will grab FAST! Roots are warmer so take longer, but love the product. I’ve been using L’Oréal Elvive purple shampoo for a cheap quick fix. This is more a color/dye shampoo and it’s great. Conditioner is help to assist the silver tone but not for conditioning purpose. Overall it’s great! If you see the ends they turned a light purple after 5 mins. Read more

This product was just OK for me. First, it's more like a toner. For it to really work, I need to leave it on, cover with a shower cap, and get out of the shower for 10 minutes or longer. That's not how I shampoo. Normally, I shampoo, maybe leave product on for a minute or two, and then rinse out. It is effective at reducing yellow and brass tones, but it's almost like a toner. I really don't have time for this in my day to day routine. I don't want to be in the shower for 45 minutes and have to clean the blue/purple in my shower afterwards. Plus, my hair is easily tangled, so I had to apply my own conditioner after this set. I didn't really see dramatic results like the pictures, but I noted that my hair did not develop that orangey color in between highlights. So, maybe this isn't the right fit for me. Read more

I gave Bold Uniq 3 stars mainly because I didn't realize what I didn't know until receiving it. So, two questions - 1) How often do you use it? 2) How do you use it?You watch the videos about it and they do a before and after. You see one girl in the shower, no gloves on that I can see. But when you go to use it you discover you need to wear gloves (they only give you one compostable pair, just 1). You have to per-wash with your regular shampoo and towel dry before applying. If you have to wear gloves, I wouldn't be surprised if the shower/curtain would get stained too. So I guess it was best to do it in the sink after the shower. The amount of time you leave it on is very broad. Then I couldn't find anywhere how often to use it. Finally I did find reference to adjusting usage to your own needs. Not very clear there. As for the product, it does what it says, but two days later and the static in my hair won't go away, even after another washing. They do all this marketing on the eco-packaging when they really should focus a bit more on the steps of actually using it. Oh, and a bit pricy too. Read more

Some spots turn purple very quickly and some don't lighten as much. I've used it about 6-7 times. Maybe once a week. Definitely don't rely on this for #hairgoals. I just got this shampoo/conditioner combo yesterday, so haven't used it more than once at this point. I have recently given-in to my "new normal" color of much more silver/platinum than dark brown. I have colored my hair to my "original" color of dark brown for years. Decided to stop all of that and go natural. I wanted to remove the yellow that persists. This shampoo and conditioner did just that. My hair is very bright and shiny, and helps my silver contrast with the brown in a very pretty way (I do still have some brown that remains, though am truly more of a silver/platinum). I'm still getting used to not having dark hair, and this helps. As an added note (I appreciate tips in the review sections!), I have started using Anastasia Ash Blonde powder and pomade on my eyebrows, rather than my "old" brown. Wow, what a difference. Ladies, if you are going from brown to grey/platinum, give ash blonde a try. Big difference! I am so far pleased with this shampoo/conditioner combo, and will continue to use. I had tried Joico Purple Shampoo and it was ok. Still left little parts of brassiness in my hair. I saw an ad for this product and decided to try it out and I LOVE it. It definitely makes my hair look like I had it freshly done and doesn't leave my hair feeling stringy or dry. Will definitely buy again. Read more

Due to lockdown I have had several appointments sadly cancel leaving my highlights very brassy. After reading a review about this product I decided to give it a try...I was not disappointed! I ordered the shampoo & conditioner duo, I was very pleased with the packaging but mainly the advice & instructions that came with it! Having read them I decided to go easy at first so went for 3/4 minutes...fantastic results instantly. I’ve just used the product once I normally use Lanza or fanola but did find it more effect . I bought the shampoo and conditioner set the big difference was the conditioner it was outstanding . Best purple shampoo I’ve used - and I’ve tried A LOT! I know purple shampoo can be harsh on your hair but Bold Uniq leaves if feeling soft and shiny. I’m a hardcore user that likes to leave it on 30+ minutes because I like the lovely violet tones (which fade with washing) but if you just wanted to tone down brassiness on platinum hair I’m sure just a few minutes would do the trick...Wear gloves though!
