I first purchased a sample of a product from Pureology at a hair salon and liked it, but the salon is far from where I live and I no longer go there. I tried to find the same product on Amazon, but couldn't and instead found this. My hair isn't colored, but it's gray, fine, dry, and not as shiny as it was in the flower of my lost youth. I thought maybe this would work. And it does! It gets rid of the frizz, helps give my hair some body and provides a nice, healthy looking sheen. A little bit will go a long way. My hair has never looked worse than it does right now after using this product! I emulsified a small amount in my hands and ran it through my freshly-washed, still damp hair and my hair instantly became extremely frizzy and felt dry as stale straw! My hair is thick with a natural wave. It tends to get a little frizzy in humidity if I don’t put the right products on it. My stylist recommended this product to me, but I’m afraid it just doesn’t work on my hair. My hair has never looked frizzier or felt drier in my life than it does right now. My hair is usually shiny and feels soft, even though some of it is a little coarse. But now it looks dull, frizzy, and downright ugly.I don’t think Pureology products work for me. This is a surprisingly effective product! I have very thin frizzy damaged hair from years of coloring. I use a small pea-sized amount of this product on the mid-length to ends of (dry) hair to eliminate some of the frizz. Pureology Style + Protect Serum was recommended to me by my hairstylist. I was looking for something to tame frizziness and give my hair some extra shine in between keratin treatments. This worked well, but it didn't blow me away as I had hoped it would. While using the product, I still get minor frizzies, and the shine isn't super glossy. You MUST emulsify it by rubbing it in your palms in a circular motion before using it. When emulsifying it, it becomes very slippery. I have fine, dry, curly hair and live in a high heat/humidity location. A dime size dot of this stuff on wet hands, worked into wet hair leaves my hair feeling like hair rather than a Brillo Pad! I had high hopes for this product, but it did not live up to them. Before you apply the product, it says to turn the cream into a serum. It feels like a paste in your hands. The serum is heavy, and after you blow dry your hair, your hair doesn't feel smooth or weightless. It is hard to brush and feels artificial. I returned the product. Read more
