I have tried almost all bipolar medications and they all either made me psychotic or didn't work. I ended up using invega and that helped but something was still off so my doctor added another medication and it didn't help so she added another which made me almost go to the hospital. I've been suffering for almost 2 years to find what works and was just annoyed I could never feel like myself- just normal wasnt a possibility. Drs are unsure if I even have bipolar but they know something is going on. 3 days into taking this and I feel completely back to my old self. I have used the 5mg version for a few years, and it has helped with my mild to moderate manic/depressive mood regulation. The only thing is that taking 5mg regularly, even only 3 times a week, ended up giving me brain fog, and generally just not feeling "right". So I settled on 2 times a week, but that made it to wear I'd have some good days, and some bad days (still way better than not taking it).When the 1mg version came out, I started taking that daily, and from that point forward, I've only had good days (when it comes to the mood regulation I'm treating). It's been about a month, and so far, so good.I see that other reviewers were taking different dosages, so I'd recommend listening to your body (and your doctor!). Keep a daily log about how your feeling, and what changes to make to your dosage over time. It’s great that pure makes lithium orotate and it comes in both 1 mg and 5 mg ( not available on amazon) they supposedly have standards similar to pharma. Lithium Orotate helps with tapering off Lithium Carbonate which is very toxic and prescribed for bipolar. But what I actually have is trauma and food sensitivities, However to come off Lithium carbonate it requires going very slow and getting support from others who have done it. I was taking 600 lithium carbonate and switched to 15 mg of lithium orotate, I like pure encapsulations lithium orotate because it seems to have potency standards similar to pharmaceuticals. Supplements are not regulated for standards if I understand correctly however pure has standards in the company that IMO I can rely on. Have been in relatively slow taper of LO for a couple of years and as long as I go slow enough and stick to this brand I am relatively withdrawal symptom free. LO seems less toxic and easier to taper IMO. Now all I need to do is avoid wheat and sugar and heal my trauma. Read more
