So, i waited until i completed 80 percent of my bottle before my review, and now that i have im definitely ordering anther one. I'm a 27yr old woman diagnosed as a diabetic type 2 as of 2015 and have PCOS. I'm so amazed by this product that i don't know where to begin. First, let me start with the things i struggled with; the most obvious high blood sugar (post meal usually >200, fasting >150), overweight (214 when starting berberine), nicaraguan acanthosis (darkening of the skin in areas like neck/creases- I'm african american btw so it gets really dark). So im sooo happy to state that my results have been amazing. my fasting blood sugar has been 89-100, sometimes 115-120 if ive eating something i had no business eating at night or throught the day), post meal is usually around 120-130, my weight is down to 206, and the major issue for me was the ancanthosis since that is one of the major signs your body isn't using insulin properly, and my neck has lightened considerable (which is also a boost of confidence). i didnt test my cholesterol levels but from my research apparently that is also positively affected as well. I feel energetic and less lethargic and dazed ESPECIALLY after a meal. i literally had fast food one day from lunch and i felt light, not heavy or hazey as a result of your blood sugar shooting too high really fast. Last, i have or should i say had combination IBS, and i cant remember the last time i had bathroom issues. i'm regular as long as my diet isn't crazy. i don't know if berberine is to blame for that but im confident that it played a part. I'm so happy i decided to go this route as ive worked in pharmacy as a tech for years and i see the meds diabetics walk away with everyday and i refused to start the journey..i tried metformin and i told myself "this cant be life". I never write reviews, but I had to chime in on the high opinion I have of this product as a part of a group of supplements I take. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes 9 mos ago with a blood sugar reading of 425 and an A1c of 14! My doctor actually told me she had never seen a higher A1c reading. After crying and feeling sorry for myself I started doing some research. I cut out most carbs, ALL sweetened sodas/teas/juices (even "diet), and switched to monkfruit sweetener only in hot beverages. I also took metformin along with two of these pills and two different types of cinnamon. Just went to the endocrinologist and my blood sugar is 104 and an A1c of 6. I also lost over 70lbs pretty effortlessly while doing this. Of course it's not only the supplements, but I know for sure they helped A LOT. If your doctor thinks you can take them, DO IT. I love my Berberine supplements. I was taking a lower Mg different brand multiple times a day. But I prefer just taking it once a day so I know it’s with a meal. A homeopathic doctor recommended I take Berberine to keep yeast and fungal infections at bay. I have not had any infections when I’m taking it, but I have stopped for months at a time and it’s almost guaranteed I’ll get a yeast infection in that time. Berberine has also helped my mother stay off of cholesterol lowering medication. She went in for her tests and they told her she would have to go on it.
