I am a woman in my mid forties who stopped coloring and highlighting my hair about 3 years ago. After coloring and highlighting my thick, beautiful hair since the age of 17, having children, becoming older, my hair was a frizzy, brittle, product-needing, thinning mess. I had to style my hair more and more and use more and more products to help it look nice. I then started a new job and began working for an older woman who had the most incredible head of shiny and thick salt and pepper and silver hair. I asked her what products she used and she said none. She told me she washed and conditioned only. She said the secret was to not color your hair and find a shampoo that kept your scalp healthy but didn't fry your hair. She said, take care of your scalp so it is able to grow healthy hair, and don't abuse your hair once it has grown out. It was such simple advice. I stopped coloring and highlighting right then and there. I won't lie. It was rough at first and I felt ugly. The grow out was tough. I did end up cutting it short once it had grown out a bit to get rid of all the processed fried hair. I am glad I stuck with it, though. Three years into my natural hair journey, my hair is healthy and shiny and growing like a weed. I have light brown hair with an awesome silver streak on the top of my head. That was another discovery, I had no idea what hair color I had. Anyways, once my hair grew out, I wanted to invest in a shampoo that would promote a healthy scalp and nourish my hair. This shampoo does the trick. I no longer have dandruff and my hair is light and full of body without frizz. And, after years of blow drying and using a straightener, I now wash my hair and let it air dry. I have shiny, beach waves with lots of volume and no frizz. This shampoo cleans my scalp so well but does not strip my hair. I only have to wash my hair twice per week and it always looks good. I bought this shampoo at the beginning of November. I used it every time I shampooed my hair for two months straight. Around the middle of December, I started noticing that my hair was falling out like crazy! I was losing a ton in the shower, a ton while combing, and more all throughout the day. Then I began to notice how horribly dry my hair started feeling. It’s feels like absolute straw! Worse than ever before! It didn’t dawn on me right away, but I’m wondering if it could all be from this shampoo and conditioner. Needless to say, I quit using it as soon as I realized it’s probably the culprit. Here’s my honest review: When I looked at the ingredients when I was about to buy the product, I thought it was good to be true, especially for the price. My entire teenage and adult life I have lost a lot of hair. It’s on my brush and it’s in my shower and it’s always a chunk full. On my first use of the shampoo and conditioner, I lost almost nothing. My hair didn’t fall out as much at first I thought it was weird. So, I checked the ingredients and it only has organic materials, as in no DMD, which is known to cause cancer and hair loss. I honestly feel that I will keep using this product and am looking forward to get some hair back and my lush curls back.Second review: Yoo. I just finished my bottle and I got it in January 26 and it’s February 20. Almost a month, but my hair... wow, i did not need to cut 6 inches off this product has made my hair like those shampoo commercials. It’s super soft and shiny, my ends are together and not splitter. I live the feeling and the smell it has. I’m gonna buy this shampoo forever. 9/10 - just because I found bigger bottles at Costco for a lower price. I used this shampoo and conditioner 3 times each time I noticed my hair was coming out when I brushed it.it was soft and it smelled ok but after the 3rd time using it I decided this product isn't helping me at all.I dont want to lose my hair I want to grow it!! I've been using this for a couple months now, and I'm finally seeing true difference. I don't know what happened, but about 7 years ago I just started losing my, used to be, nice thick hair. Since then I have tried everything from castor oil to rogain, to an expensive comb with red light/lasers, to regrow my hair. When I first started using this, I was freaking out because I LOST hair for the 1st week or 2. Don't freak out! 2 months later I can't see through my hair to my scalp anymore, and ny hairs all around health is noticeably better.Been a month since I wrote my last review. I just took my hair out a bunch from when it was wet, so it's a lil fluffy/scraggly lookin. But about 4 months ago I wouldn't have post my hair AT ALL. It's gaining volume and growing great. I absolutely LOVE this product. It has changed my thin brittle hair loss into thick and strong individual strands with no more split ends. My hair still falls out due to stress, but definitely not as much as before thanks to this product. I didn’t receive this product for free to leave a good review ... I bought it and have been using it for over 4 months now. I was so happy Costco started carrying this brand and bigger for the same amount of money ... but be aware that the Costco one doesn’t contain Keratin like this one does.
