Bleeds terriably. died my hair over a week ago, rinsed and rinsed for about 30 minutes and still it ran pink and has since. After 1 shower went from dark red to hot pink. No shampoo, warm water. I've been dying my hair since i a was a preteen and i was using splat for years which is also a heavy bleeder in my hair but not after a week. Have to bleach my hair again to get it out because i cant have pink hair at work and i cant get it to run clear so im worried added my normal punky color to it will cause the punky to wash out quickly too. NOt happy Read more

It turned purple, not red, and lasted one week before it was completely gone from my hair. I get 2-3 weeks from Pravana. Everyone kept saying Pulp Riot was better but not the case for me. Save your money. Read more

I mix this with pyro for a perfect retro red. It's a semi-perm so it's going to bleed like a mofo. Read more

I really was excited about this color and have used brighter pulp riot colors on virgin hair before and it took great! This color though, not so much. I have dark hair(level 3 or 4) which still grabs some pigment, so I went into this hoping for even the smallest tint. It only tinted my scalp Read more

Hi all! I’m a licensed cosmetologist in 3 states. With Pulp riot you don’t use shampoo when you rinse after application. Also from the time of using these colors you HAVE to use COOL to COLD water when washing hair. In general red colors fade quicker bc of molecular weight and size which also makes it ironically harder to remove. Red is a commitment. It needs just as much attention as maintaining blonde. The water temperature is crucial. When it’s cool to cold it seals your hair cuticle and traps the color in. Also heat from the dryer and irons will fade color just like the sun fades cloth. If these aren’t working for you than the product is either FAKE or you are not taking proper care of the color in general. Read more

I've used quite a few Pulp Riot colors. If you're looking for a darker color on the more pinkish violet undertones, this one is awesome! To rebuttal the other review, using hot water will drain your color! It literally says it on the box. Here's how to keep your color longer. 1. Wash it once a week 2. Use a sulfate free shampoo 3. To help heal your hair from bleaching No. 3 Olaplex once a week. If your color is bleeding there's multiple reasons for it, don't always blame the color, might be you've bleached more than once in a day, or bleached could have damaged it to the point where it won't hang onto color. I can promise you, it will bleed, BUT! not as bad as you think. Thanks for listening to my TED Talk =) Read more
