These foam mats go together easily and can be arranged in any pattern you want. You can remove all the centers and switch them out with each other to create whatever color combo you want. I used this to make a floor in a "baby jail" playpen and my 10-month-old has fallen several times and doesn't even cry when her head hits the soft foam. We have dogs and some hair got inside the playpen and I was able to use my regular vacuum cleaner on the foam tiles with no problems. My 5-year-old enjoyed using the extra tiles we had left over to build blocks and tunnels that she could crawl through. One caveat: I initially tried to use this on the edge of a thin area rug so that most of it was on the rug and a little bit was off the edge. The tiles kept buckling up and separating where there was a drop off in the rug. Its exactly what I wanted. I was afraid 3/8ths of an inch wouldn't be think enough but it really is.In response to some negative reviews:1. For the reviews that say the edge pieces don't line up... THEY DO! There are 4 specific edge pieces that are made for the corners only. You just have to be smarter than the puzzle.2. I bought this before COVID. It was about $25 then. The price right now is $56 and that's ridiculous.That said, for $25 its worth it. It protects the kiddo, helps babies with color / number / alphabet. It's thick and is long lasting (been a year so far). Quality is really good, so highly recommended. Right after I receive this mat the chemical odor was so strong I had to leave it outside so that my baby would not be near it. It's ashamed that it is still being sold on Amazon for kids use. Would they let their own children play with these toxic products. Read more

Perfect ! My baby is starting to roll so I wanted something firm (but not hard ) for him to play on . I also used the left overs to add border around the wall . This is a great mat! Out of all the ones on here this is the only one I could find with a border and came with so many tiles for the price so it’s pretty spacious. I will say the shapes do come out which normally would be a good thing but I have a 7 and 5 year old as well and they can’t help themselves constantly taking them out. Was looking for a mat of larger size but couldn’t find anything. Ended up buying 4 boxes of this product. Was enough to cover 10 by 11 feet area. Love the colors. Easy to put together and mix and match. Kids love it. It is not too thin but not too thick either. Will buy again. Researched different mats and most of them very expensive. It is reasonably priced. Every feature of the mat is separate, meaning that if you'd like to lift up the mat and make it stand - then every circle, star, square, triangle etc will fall out. We have two cats and don't want to leave the mat on the floor for the night since cats start to use it as a scratching pad. With this design, the mat is literally useless.
