Absolutely outstanding! I was driving down a highway at 60 miles an hour when an SUV apparently didn't see my car and attempted to cross the highway, resulting in a severe crash. My 10 month old baby had minimal bruising at the straps but was perfectly healthy. We are without a doubt replacing our Peg Perego convertible seat with the exact same model and hope it will never be in another crash! Read more

I really love this seat! Incredibly easy to install, very well made and easy to use. Also my baby girl will fall asleep in this seat, which she rarely did in her infant seat (Nuna Pipa). I also took this to the California Highway Patrol to make sure I had installed it properly and the officer who had installed thousands of car seats commented on how nice the seat is. The only drawback I see is that the shoulder straps can get twisted rather easily, but once you have a system using the elastic side hooks, it really doesn’t happen anymore. Highly recommend! Review by Wife- The Peg Perego Primo Viaggio came up on the top of our list after doing extensive research on convertible car seats. I reviewed safety performance, especially the benefits of extended rear facing, as well as comfort, function, aesthetics, footprint & ratings. Honestly, the list of contenders get quite short when you want to rear face your precious cargo for as long as possible. This seat goes up to 45 pounds, that's amazing! We picked up this model in Atmosphere, which matches the black leather interior perfectly. It has been used the past 3-4 months in the second car, while still using the infant carseat in the primary car. As long as it is well reclined, I feel as though this car seat offered more comfort than the primary seat. & if you're fine skipping the whole removable bucket seat phase, the Peg Perego is a great option from Day One. It comes with a wedge type insert that'll help keep the baby in that cozy super reclined position. Do note, the shoulder straps are on a longer side. The car seat itself is soft, plush, does it's job moisture wicking & the cover is a easy enough to remove. It offers side protection without being so claustrophobic.Loving this car seat so much, I just ordered a second in the "sports" trim Read more

We've been using the Peg Perego over a year now, and I would absolutely buy it again. The seat is extremely easy to install and adjust for growth. Ours gets moved between cars regularly, but it's not hard to swap and secure. The seat isn't light at 18lbs, but safety is my first priority in a car seat. And the steel frame gives protection that some car seats lack, so the weight is worth it to me. Secondarily, the cover is relatively easy to take off and wash. And, based on my son's reaction, it's also very comfortable with a lot of cushioning. The only thing it's missing is a cup holder. Read more

I am embarrassed to admit the amount of research I did before purchasing a car seat for my 7 month daughter who has already outgrown her infant carrier. It finally came down to this seat or the Britax Boulevard, and we chose this to try in my SUV. The material is wonderful and my daughter seems to enjoy riding in it (we did an all night drive recently and she slept the entire way in it) and it has good padding. I feel that she would be safe and protected in an accident, but the seat is frustrating. The straps twist and are difficult to get on correctly over her shoulders. Further, it requires a lot of strength to get the straps tight after she's in. I feel like I'm crushing her because I'm pulling so much on the strap to tighten the straps on her shoulder, but when I check, the straps are still incredibly loose on her. The seat was also difficult to position in my car, but I don't know if that is a problem specific to this seat or my car. I have a GMC terrain and the back seat bench isn't flat, it angles down to the back support so there was a large gap under the car seat that we had to stuff with a rolled towel (again, I may have this problem with all seats, but I don't know since I've only tried this seat). I didn't have this problem with Chicco keyfit base for her carrier. Finally, the install was much more difficult than anticipated. One of the latch straps is twisted in the clip so it's impossible to tighten or loosen it to get in installed. It took 2 of us together pushing on it to get it latched in tightly and if you use the teether, it causes the seat to tilt to whatever side it's tethered just ever so slightly. As a result of the frustration, we did purchase the Britax for my husband's car a few days ago,and I'll provide an update after we install it if I have a preference for that seat.UPDATE: We did install the Britax in my husband's Jeep, but ended up giving it to my mother-in-law and the husband bought yet a third car seat. I didn't use the Britax all that much, but he really disliked it. He said the shoulder straps were very low coming from the back over her shoulders and more difficult to use. My annoyance with the Britax was the release button for the harness. It is set really far down into the seat so you need long fingers and good finger strength to push it to release the harness. I'm right handed,, but had to use my left hand (because the car seat was behind the passenger seat) and had a difficult time with it. I also thought the strap on the buckle is pretty short so the buckle could easily irritate the legs because it rests right in between the legs. I will say that the Britax seat does seem roomier then the Peg Perego and installation was much easier. But, my husband and I both agree that we like the Peg Perego much better. I believe he ultimately bought one of the Graco car seats and is very happy with it. The Graco wasn't a lot cheaper than these 2 seats, but he went with it because it's not as bulky, but just as safe. The britax and peg perego have enormous footprints in cars and take up a lot of space. In my suv it's not a problem, but the wrangler's backseat is not as wide and deep as you might think. The britax took up a lot of room and made the front passenger seat almost useless because it had to be so far forward for the car seat to fit behind it. In the few times I rode in the wrangler with the britax installed, I sat in the backseat with the baby because the front seat was too uncomfortable.Further Update 2.11.18: I am not a fan of this car seat and wish I had purchased the Graco my husband purchased. His came with a cup holder which is incredibly useful - this seat does not. Maybe they sell that accessory separately, but for the money I spent, that would be obnoxious to have to pay separately for a plastic cup holder. Further, this seat is not as roomy as the Graco seat and my daughter gets upset sometimes when I put her in it. My daughter is now 20 months old and large for her age (35 inches, 34 lbs) and just doesn't seem to fit comfortably in the seat. I have no interest in purchasing a 4th car seat now so she'll have to make do. I have a 2 month old who may inherit this seat when she is older (she is running much thinner so far so maybe she'll fit better) and I'll get the older daughter a new, roomier car seat. Regardless, I will need to purchase another car seat in the future for one of the kids and it will not be this seat. Read more

Thrilled with this carseat! With the infant knsert, wish we had gotten this sooner and not the Chicco Keyfit 30. We currently have a 12 month old and would like to continue rear-facing for one more year. This Peg Perego is a wonderful convertable carseat. Easy to install, well thoughtout features, the material for the "atmosphere" feels like a wetsuit, easy to maintain, easy to remove and take off. Our girl is tall and the adjustable height feature was a must. The added Peg Perego cup holder is great! Only dislike is that I wish it reclined just a little fuether to give some added leg room against the seat. I would buy again in a heart beat. I'll be interested to see how she fits in it when she's older. Read more
