About this item RELIEF FROM HEEL PRESSURE - Prevalon Heel Protectors provide a pillow surrounding the foot to reduce risk of pressure injury that can occur with non-ambulatory or bedridden patients. MAXIMUM SUPPORT - The support provided by the Prevalon Heel Protector off-loads the pressure put on the heel and allows the heel to float off the surface of the bed or wheelchair. DESIGNED TO STAY IN PLACE - Grey dermasuede interior grips foot and ankle to keep boot in place. Interior material is soft, breathable and wicks away moisture for breathability throughout wear. Open heel design allows you to confirm the heel is properly placed and no pressure is on the heel. When the boot stays in place you can ensure continuous pressure relief. COMFORTABLE FOR ALL PATIENTS - Prevalon heel protectors are designed for maximum comfort with pillow-style cushioning and breathable fabric interior. Adjustable stretch panels ensure comfortable security for any size leg. Low-friction nylon exterior easily slides over bed sheets and allows freedom of movement without slipping out of place - unlike pillows. SECURE FIT FOR ANY SIZE - Stretch panels adjust in seconds for a secure fit. Ambidextrous for ease of use.

My wife has a fully disabled leg and as a result has had numerous bouts with heel sores. She can neither move it around or feel the pressure until there's great pain. We've tried waffle boots, which work but always spring leaks. We've also used other foam boots with mixed success. The Prevalon has a fabric on the inner surface that resists slipping and misplacement of the boot. Other foam boots we've tried often roll or twist which causes pressure problems. Not sure if I described this well but the bottom line is that this is the best boot we've found in 10 yrs and would purchase another if this one wears out. Read more
My elderly mother has 2 bad sores on her foot. One has became an open wound and the other is just very sore. Her doctor told her about this and wanted her to try it. She had me order it for her sleeps with it every night now. She said it did take a little to get use to due to it's size. But where she was sliding her foot at night to cause the sores in the first place, this has helped her out a lot. It is a little pricey, but as long as she is happy and it is working, that doesn't matter. her health is the most important thing. Read more
I consider these the gold standard in offloading boots. They are way more expensive than foam boots, but they last forever and can be washed. The foam boots fall apart in a week or two depending on how much the person moves while wearing them. If you are taking care of a wound that you believe will heal quickly and never return, get the foam. Any other scenario will be served better by these. Read more
This was recommended by my Dad’s doctor...and it did the trick...he had developing sores on both heals due to pressure...these shoes helped a great deal. Easy to put on and take out. Three straps make sure it is on well. Read more

I would recommend the Prevalon Boot by Sage Co. For anyone that is susceptible to foot ulcers or wounds. This model is fairly new and the Velcro straps should last longer than previous models.I have used Prevalon foot protection for four years and won't go to bed without it. Read more

Expensive -- Yes, but stage 2 pressure ulcer on heels gone away within a week just because of floating on these babies. I tried having the patient floating the heels over pillows, using fancy dressings -- and these did the trick. Read more
Am in a wheelchair and the one I was given from the hospital was getting a wee bit dirty. This new one is perfect. I can wear it with protection with no worries while my old one is getting a slight cleaning. The new one doesn't have the color codes on the straps, but the velcroe is much stronger and I really appreciate the ease for putting it on and knowing it will stay in place. Yes, I'll probably order another one. The instructions are easy to follow. Read more
