I got the big 350 gram bar which is humungus and a penny or so cheaper per gram...i've been using it a week and seems hardly used...says 350 grams comes in olive oil and lavender...i guess i got the olive oil...i can't see how to order other than what i got, the green bar...the scent is 'clean' almost antiseptic or 'medical smelling'...what?...i don't know how else to explain it.......i can stroke the bar through my hair in the shower, rub a little on my goatee, under my arms, my crotch...and, then, i rub the soap all over my body...i sit in a chair in my shower (i'm 75) and i move the soap suds from my head and face and torso down to my feet and legs while sitting...this stuff she's 'keeps on giving'...giving and giving lathering suds...there's an art to putting just the right amount of water mixed with the suds to make for a constant increase in soap all over ya...i've never experienced a suds monster like this stuff...the huge bar is very slippery but doesn't get away from me and i really don't have to hold the bar rubbing but for a couple minutes at the most...i don't know what's in this soap but it is stupendous and i'm going to use this from now on i'm a thinking...i've tried Toms which i like and Dove and others but this, hands down, is in another universe...it is the Cadillac of soaps i'm sure.... I reordered the rose petal and also decided to try the star flower (blue color) and the milk version (white color), all in the 250 g size. I am SOOO disappointed that Pre de Provence seems to have changed its formula. The soaps are so drying!! I wouldn't have cared if the star flower and the milk versions were not good, but for the rose petal to also have changed is a total disappointment. I have been using the rose petal for a long time and was so happy I found it after trying different brands of soap. It used to be creamy when you lather it, now it just lathers and is so harsh when I tested it on my hands, it even made my skin hurt!! Also the fragrance has changed, it doesn't smell of roses anymore. Now I have to go back to square one!!. What is wrong with most companies now? They seem to be reformulating their products not to make them better but to make more profit by substituting their ingredients with cheaper ones. Sad, really sad. This seems to be happening not only with US products but probably worldwide. By the way, I used to order the smaller size, the one in 150 g,, but I don't think the size makes any difference. I really had high hopes for this soap - I went by the reviews and it was cheaper than the French milled I usually get!The soap arrives (in cellophane?!) no ingredients listed just a lot number - took a shower and the first impression was slimy - but it was supposed to be quad milled! My skin was squeaky when I rinsed off - when I stepped out could still smell my deodorant- jumped back in shower...used the imposter soap again...did not do its job - my skin was SO dry after so tossed it straight in the garbage and went back to my regular brand - If you love French milled soaps (and can tell the difference!) ? Cannot give this five stars and here's why. I do not like the smell, plus the soap is a HUGE block which makes it very awkward and hard to keep in your hands, the bar should be round and long not a huge block!. I also do not care for the small sand pieces they scratch my skin, and why they are even are added is beyond me..feels like I am using sand paper on my skin!!!... Pros: lathers ok and does not dry out my hands. Seems good for eczema-prone hands, no flare up's as yet. I'm not sure if I would purchase from this company again. This so-called "luxury" soap is anything but! Has NONE of the features advertised on site. It has no scent whatsoever, leaves an unbelievable mess in the soap dish with each use, and, most importantly, it is an exfoliant soap, but this is not indicated anywhere in the description!!! As a result, it is most unpleasant to use on hands because it contains many, many little scratchy bits, irritants that scrape skin with every washing. Very nice soap, i could not verify if there was no palm oil in it as its destroying the habitat of the Orang Outang.............so No Palm Oil.......or derivatives..........i will try to know, nice lather etcI find this soap leave my skin soft and very clean, i can still find my face and hands soft and clean 3 hours after using the Pre de Provence soap. I Love the soap it is expensive but worth it. I am extremely happy with my soap and i will buy it again, i really dont understand why some people say its abrasive and no smell and leave their skin dry. For me as a pure soap its Magic. Read more

I took a shower with it last night and when I got up this morning the bathroom smelled just like it: sweet honey with a hint of fruit. That's how it smells to me, as I had never smelled linden before. :-) But don't worry, the fragrance isn't strong. It's soft and delicious. Didn't stay on my skin very long after I got out of the shower.I didn't find notice anything regarding skin moisture, but I've only used it once, so I'll update this review if I notice anything worth mentioning.The only negative is the price, it's a little expensive, but it's a big bar. Also it came in clear plastic with no tags or labels, I wish it came in paper or a small thin cardboard box of some kind. Read more
