The brushes look exactly like they do in the pictures and the bristles are so SOFT. I love that it's a mix of synthetic and real hair/bristles. I used them once and then washed the ones I used and there wasn't any loss of bristle - super nice. The last set of brushes I bought (I can't remember where I got them) started loosing bristles almost immediately after the first wash. It's a fun and unique design for the handles, too!
