Each pad is individually folded into thirds and neatly wrapped inside of a disposable paper/cloth pouch which makes it great for easy and sanitary disposal. The clothlike wrap or covering also keeps it neat & clean for carrying in your purse, handbag, duffle or back-pack. Each pad is a good weight and has substantial cotton filling for quick absorption for instant gushes. Inside each pad, there is a great gel-like substance spun into the inside material that changes the wetness into a gelatinous form to prevent leaks. I find this style to be perfect for me, they are extra long, they are extra wide, they fit nicely too due to the hourglass shape of the pad. I've used the ultra, overnight Poise pads for years (in other words, the most absorbent ones they offer), and they were great. But about a year (or slightly more) ago they changed the look and style and since then they leak and I need to do laundry constantly. The old ones had a white backer. The new ones have a purple underside.I am not a heavy wetter. I leak a bit and that is it, so their insufficient pads really frustrated me enough that I started to look elsewhere.Tena does not cut it. They're pathetic and worse than Poise. Lo and behold, I found NorthShore Care Supply. They have lots of pads and liners which are way more absorbent, larger, and do not leak. While I can't put my finger on it, these are a bit different than the ones I buy locally. They might be a bit thinner? Also the packaging is different, it is white with purple writing.The pads themselves are really good, they absorb great whether a slow leak or the dreaded "power blast" during a coughing spell or sneezing fit... the absorption rate is what I consider to be superior and it will hold a LOT of liquid for long periods of time.My household swears by this brand & variety and we won't use any other kind. Also, even with long spells where you can't change pads like sleep or a long day at work. They are comfortable, even when "full" and do not cause rash or irritation from exposure to urine.They do cost a bit more but the security and longevity of use justify it because you don't have to change as often or worry about any nasty leaks. I liked the convenience of them being delivered. My second delivery was 3 cases. My mom won’t use that many in a 6 month period. Now I have them sitting in my entry way because I have no where to store them. Since they changed the Poise Pads, they ruined them. They aren’t more absorbent. They end up making my life as a caregiver more difficult. I change beds and do more Laundry because of them. You make my mom feel badly. She has Parkinson’s and can’t get to the bathroom. I have been ordering these for a while. Lately, however; I have not been receiving my order in a timely fashion. I realize it is still during COVID times, but I have been very disappointed of the delay of these items. Also the past two times, I feel like I am receiving inferior products because the boxes have been torn and this one was even open across the top. They had put it in a different box, but I do not like to receive a new product that looks ragged. In years past, I have always been pleased with the delivery and the product itself. I have tried a lot of incontinence pads. These pads are the best I have found for my elderly mother, as well as, for my disabled husband. They are wider at the top and longer than other pads.
