I’ve been doing this mom thing for a little while now and I have tried (what feels like) 372 different brands of sippys. Don’t believe anyone else when they say leak proof. This is seriously the only cup we have ever had that is really truly leak proof. All other cups are liars.I’m a simple girl I don’t care about bells and whistles or fancy designs. I just want a leak proof cup. I am so glad I have found playtex sippys and I will never again be lured by a buy one get one 50% off sale at target or a fancy new infomercial cup. We don’t need snack compartments, we certainly don’t need straws (way too much hassle) we just need a cup that will not destroy the carpet every time it gets abandoned in the living room. I’m not kidding, I trust these cups so much I will even throw one (with milk) into my Kate Spade bag and not think twice. THEY NEVER LEAK. Read more
I started my baby on sippy cups at 9 months old. She liked the ones with a silicone top at first but soon discovered that if she held it upside down and pressed it slightly on any surface, the liquid would come out of the top. I realized then, I needed to switch to a hard top cup.I bought a Nuby brand one and the second or third drop to the floor, the top cracked so I had to throw it away. I tried a first years brand and really liked it because there were no additional parts to disassemble and clean, but I couldn't get the lid on all the way to save my life! Because of that, I didn't buy more.I then tried this brand, the non-insulated ones first. It's easy to get the lid on (line it up, it sinks onto the cup a little bit, then twist until it clicks), it leaks the least out of every cup brand I've tried (I think I've tried them all honestly) and it's survived so many drops. This cup will leak if you have ice water in it and it's tipped on its side, but that's not the cups fault. My personal water bottle does the same dumb thing when I open it up.If you're looking for a sippy cup that never leaks, you'll never find one that's perfect. This cup is the closest I have found to not leaking. I'm so extremely satisfied with it, I had to write this review. I now own 8 of this brand of cup. 6 non-insulated and 2 insulated. If your baby doesn't mind the hard top, this is the way to go. Read more
Playtex Sipsters (Level 3) are the first cups my daughter did well with when we tried to transition her off the bottle. The spout is easy for kids to use and they don't require that much effort to get liquid out unlike some other cups. These cups are easy to clean. The non-spill mechanism consists or a small piece of soft plastic or rubber that acts as a valve. It cleans up super easy if you make the mistake of leaving one in the car all day with milk in it while your kid is at preschool, like I did.The biggest downside is that despite the non-spill mechanism they are a bit more leaky than some other cups. No worrying about one fall sending milk all over your rug, but if your child hides it somewhat upside down there will be a puddle after a while. That isn't true of all sippy cups.Overall I would recommend them. I like them a great deal and they are working well for the family but they are not perfect. Read more
These are the best sippy cups around. They do not leak at all and are easy to clean. The clear plastic flow regulator easily detaches from the lid. We put the clear plastic piece in the silverware tray of our dishwasher and put the cup and lid in the top rack. I will buy these over and over again for all of our kids. I also appreciate that they have lots of color and graphics options not just pink for girls and blue for boys. My daughter loves the Thomas the Tank engine ones we found at Target. Highly recommend! I have tried over a half dozen sippy cups (playtex, nubby, sassy and munchkin) with my daughter and these are my favorite. (I really liked a munchkin cup, but they changed their design and lost their lead). These hardly ever leak, take a lot of abuse and keep drinks cool. I would actually recommend them to others.Update: Playtex has updated this product with a different valve and locking system on the lid. I bought one of the new spout cups with the circle valve as a replacement for one of my original design spout cups that melted in the dishwasher. The top leaks like crazy! Every time my daughter took a sip it leaked from the area between the top and the cup. A regular cup with no lid would have been less messy. I attempted to let my daughter use this cup multiple times, ensuring the lid was securely on and it leaked every single time. I am beyond disappointed that Playtex has replaced a good product with a product that is frankly, garbage. Read more
These are my 23 month old daughter's favorite cups to use. She has 6 of them! They go to grandma and grandpa's house and daycare. She drops them all over the place and they are undamaged, months later. Very easy to clean as well, and the pictures on the cups are very cute and unique. The only negative I can think of is that around the mouth piece, there seems to be some type of peeling. I can't tell if it's from her possibly grating her teeth across it, or just from regular use. Either way it doesn't seem to come off at all, just appears to be about to. Wouldn't definitely purchase more if anything happened to them! Read more
Why do I buy these cups?!?!?!?They are advertised as leak proof, spill proof, etc., but they are not. Every young child is an expert in checking gravity, and invariably it always works, and one is stuck cleaning up the spill / leak from these cups. I am not talking about a little spill as the spill size varies with the amount of time that passes between the child dropping the cup and your discovery of said dropped cup. I have had to clean up the entire contents of these cups, with the lid properly secured.I bought these because of my previous experience with Playtex cups, however, their design change has soured me on their new line of products.
