If your little one has a problem with gas, very fussy,& you can see their discomfort clearly.. I absolutely would recommend trying these bottles!! I started my little bundle of joy on the dr. Browns anti colic bottles to eliminate any discomfort from day one...low and behold they did nothing for my poor girl but the opposite of what they were suppose to & being a new mom im sure you can imagine how awful i felt not knowing what to do..i tried switching formulas, gave her gas drops, etc. NOTHING HELPED UNTIL I switched to the Playtex drop in bottles. Absolutely HEAVEN SENT..went back to her original formula (similac pro advance) and all. As long as you push out all excess air and bubbles until the formula squirts out a little, you're GOLDEN. My princess smiles all day long, has no gas pains, and hardly ever fusses! So glad i tackled the issue. Just turned 2 months old today, i switched to these bottles about 2 weeks ago and you can notice a difference in your little one very quickly!! Plus they make differet style nipples in all different sizes to help your little one latch easier! You cant go wrong here. Hopefully this helps someone along their journey!! Read more
These bottles are great, however the new design sucks! 14 years ago I would have given them 5 stars. Now with my newborn son I had a hard time finding them and then when I did finally find them the new design is terrible. They are big and bulky. And the bottom where you are supposed to put your fingers to squeeze out the air isn't wide enough, i have small hands and i cant even fit three fingers in the squeeze the air out, i have to use a spoon. And the new nipple design is even worse! I get they were trying to make it more like a natural nipple, but the dome shape is terrible, and every time i use the new design nipple, my son collapses it and i have to stop his feeding and unscrew the top to reinstate the nipple. And every time i have fed him with the new nipple he will burp and then projectile vomit half of the bottle up, he doesn't do this when using the old style playtex nipples or any other brand for that matter. I've spent so much money on different bottles and I like the playtex drop in the best, but i really don't like the new designs. Read more
These bottles seriously changed our lives — our kiddo was suffering from acid reflux / comic symptoms / gas. Makes for one very upset tummy, an even more upset baby and a very heart broken mommy. These bottles fixed everything. They do an excellent job of eliminating air bubbles as my baby drank. I recommend to all new mothers now. Happy eating means happy daytime and sleep time. Read more
Let me start out by saying I have a love / hate relationship with these bottles. I have 7 children and used Avent Classic with all of them and loved them!! Easy to fill, easy to clean, durable, etc. Then baby #7 arrived and by 3 months he was screaming when given bottles of expressed BM and a lot of the times during the day for up to an hour at a time. (I exclusively pump.) We gave him gas drops with EVERY bottle, tried formula, burped him constantly. He does have acid reflux and GERD, but so did 3 of my other kids and they NEVER acted like this. Ped just kept saying it was trapped gas. Not in the tummy, but in the intestinal tract. She was right. We switched to these bottles b/c we could squeeze out the extra air. After 3 days of only these bottles, our baby was like a different baby!!! No more crying or fighting to feed him. He finally started napping for more than 20 mins at a time.Still, these bottles were a pain. The plastic liners sometimes had holes, so when I pushed the air out, BM would start dripping out the side. If I took the bottle out of my son's mouth, the air would rush back in and I would have to push all the air out again. The nipples CONSTANTLY collapse. They are huge to hold. We bought the 8 ounce bottles b/c my son was eating 4 ounces at a time & knew he would only eat more as he got bigger. So, being fed up I went back to the Avent bottles that I loved. Within 24 hours, he was again screaming in pain!! Back to the Playtex bottles we go. Then I found the silicone liners!! NO HOLES!!! However, they only hold 6 ounces of prepared formula. My baby is now 6 months old. At home, he drinks 3 ounces of thawed BM in each bottle and 2-2.5 of formula at a time. When out and about, I have been just giving him a bottle of formula, so I don't have to carry a cooler + warmer for his bottles. I filled it with 6 ounces of water, but then there is NO room to add the formula. So, now I have to use the plastic liners when we are on the go. Back to holes being in the liners! It's like I can't win.I am just waiting for the day when I he maybe grows out of this so I can go back to my beloved Avent bottles. Read more
Okay so I used these bottles 20 years ago with my first child, 10 years ago with my next children and currently with my 6-month-old. The quality of these bottles has gone down tremendously from what I used to use!BUT I am still of the opinion that these are the best bottles on the market. I don't regret buying them but I do wish they would fix some of the new design flaws.-The nipples are difficult to get in the ring.-The liners seem like they don't give a snug fit around the ring so occasionally you'll have some leakage.-Because of the not very sealed fit a lot of milk gets in the screw parts of the nipple ring.-I'm having to order all new nipples after my daughter has only been using these ones for 2 months because the tip of them that has like a leak stopper on it is blowing out causing them to leak from the tip of the nipple making the flow too fast for my daughter.Despite all of these design flaws in these newer models they are still best bottles to use in my opinion. They are a thousand times easier to clean up compared to regular bottles!! If your kid has an issue with gas this will absolutely solve their problem! Flaws and all. Read more
Nipples very difficult to attach to white lids. Like the old style better. Won't purchase again, will go back to non disposable bottles when worn out or when I get tired of struggling with them. Read more
