For the record, I rue the day I purchased this ball popper for all of the reasons my little one loves it.With the press of a the smiley faced lever thing, she is fascinated by extremely loud carnival sounding music and balls popping out of tube, into the tray (sometimes - or around the room other times) and another ball popping out - rinse and repeat. If you only have 3 of the balls going at once, most of the time, they will pop out of the toy into the tray. If you have more than that, then chances are they are going to be flying around the living room. The balls are a nice size, so no worries about little ones choking on them. The opening of the toy is big enough to fit legos and other things (they will not pop up - they are too heavy). It's also easy to extract the legos from the tube by turning the toy over and yes, my little one likes to put her big legos (and anything else that will fit) in this toy in hopes of seeing it pop up. Thank goodness, nothing else seems to work besides the light balls included. My only real complain with this toy is it only has one volume - REALLY FREAKING LOUD (which is why it got 4 stars instead of 5). Many of the toys we've purchased have two volume options so you can put it on the lower volume when you are watching TV, trying to think, or just want some peace of mind. This one doesn't have that and it's so loud. Have I mentioned it's loud? We have a lot of noisy toys and only two of them bother me, this one and the Dora microphone. With that said, my kid really enjoys this and it will keep her occupied for precious minutes at a time. If you can stand the noise - this is definitely a winner. Read more

If you are purchasing this as a gift, use a different site! All of the pieces came in the shipping box and not a product box. No way to wrap this since it was in pieces in a brown shipping box. I put it together and all the pieces appear to be there but now need to find a bag to put it in completely put together. Not sure if it works since I don’t ha e 4 D batteries to try it out. If you want it for your own child and aren’t needing to use it as a gift, it is fine. Read more

I will revise this rating after I see my grandson play with it at Christmas. However, initially I am disappointed. It came with minimal packaging which normally I would approve of; but, when you are giving this as a Christmas gift it would be nice if it was in its original packaging from Playskool. I am uncomfortable that his parents will think I just got some second hand toy because there is no box. It came in an Amazon box with cardboard inside surrounding parts that for the life of me I cannot understand why those parts were not preassembled. They threw in a direction booklet which was bent and wrinkled. I am educated but found it difficult to assemble the parts which could have been already on it without taking up any room in the box it came in. Because it didn't come in the manufacturer's box it was annoying to find out that it needs four D batteries. So I have to go out and buy those, unscrew the back and install. I like to be excited about toys that I give. I am not happy at the moment! Read more

All this product does it shoot balls out of it all over the room. My 15 month old twins and I have little desire to run all over collecting balls only to put back in the toy so we can run after them again. My house is a mess of toys as it is. I don’t need tiny balls launching across the room getting lost. The sounds the thing puts out is also insanely annoying and there is no volume control. I returned it as I don’t need a $40 toy helping make a mess of my house. Read more

This was our kids’ favorite toy for years. I bought this one as a gift for a one-year-old and it was the hit of the party. When the balls hover at the top of the chute and then pop up and out, it’s fascinating and makes babies giggle. The motor goes a for a minute or so and then turns off so baby learns to press a big button to turn the machine on. Sometimes the balls will gently pop out of the machine and other times, they pop up wildly, so it’s never the same twice. Some reviewers say there aren’t enough balls, but there are plenty and baby learns to go retrieve them to put back into the chute. I like this model better than the more recent version, I guess because it’s simple. We never had any problems with the blower and while we did have to retrieve a few errant objects out of the machine, it’s reasinably easy to do, and yet another learning experience for the child. My only wish is to get back the original packaging so when we give this as a gift, it doesn’t look like we bought it second-hand. Read more

This is one of the best toddler toys ever! As a preschool teacher I am always looking for toys and books to add to my classroom. A teacher friend suggested the Busy Ball Popper and gifted my class with one. The children have LOVED it and the toy has been a favorite for years. I have purchased several of this toy as one was not enough in the class. Over the years the toy went through redesigns because the kids like to drop other toys inside which results in an adult size difficulty in getting the items out. Now that Amazon has been producing the Busy Ball Popper it’s fixed the issue. When the song stops and balls finish popping an internal barrier closes off the opening to prevent anything from being dropped inside. My only complaint with this new model is that the songs played are different from the older versions. The tones are deeper and not as high pitched which is a plus in my book. However, each tune is slower sounding and not as upbeat and cheerful. All things considered it’s still a huge hit and a really great toy!!!! Read more

This was just as much of a hit as I had hoped. Bough over a year ago, and both of my daughters (now 2 and 3.5 years old) still get a real kick out of it. Only disappointment: not nearly as loud as I had expected from other reviews. I was amused by what others had written, and was anticipating a lot more. Maybe I was fortunate to get a quieter one Read more

Why is it so loud? Like so, so loud. Like an airplane taking off. Redeemable qualities include: the kid seems to like it. I get exercise trying to find the dang balls under the furniture. Keeps the dog out of the living room because so, so loud. Read more

We had this for our older son and he loved it. While moving houses, we did not bring it along. So, had to buy it for my little one. Both my 4 year old and 1.5 year old love it. The balls are colorful and pop out and go back in on their own. Some do , pop here and there and the boys run around to collect them. The toy needs 4 D size batteries that you need to purchase separately. The batteries last a decent amount of time depending on how much the toy is played with. I bought Nippon Batteries rathen than Duracell coz Duracell was 10 times the price. The batteries have been in since 3 weeks and still playing - the toy is played with thrice a week or so maybe for 1/2 hour just to give you an idea of battery consumption Read more

When I first got this, I thought it was going to be a dud. But it’s actually been my daughters favourite toy for a while. She loves turning on the music and playing with the whizzing balls. The balls tend to go flying but she loves finding them and bringing them back to the popper. The music is shockingly loud but that kind of makes it more amusing. Read more

I bought this after my kids love the one similar to this that has been at their grandparents for 10 years. the toy is very similar to the old one, but this one goes through the 4-D batteries really quickly. Might be worth buying some rechargeable batteries to go with it. Read more
