I cut open the package to find a warning hidden inside: the brush head cannot be used with toothpaste that contains coconut oil. It would have been nice if that warning was visible from the outside of the package so I could have returned them, but instead, I'm stuck with the most expensive brush heads I've ever purchased and now I have to go out and buy new toothpaste before I can use them. Life is complicated enough. Nobody should have to worry about compatibility issues between their toothbrush and toothpaste. Read more
I really liked this brush head - I tried two Phillips Sonic versions for sensitive gums. The other set was the older version. This new version was a bit stiffer but was still pretty gentle on my gums and overall I liked it on par or slightly better then the older version. However, after using the first brush-head of this set for ~6 weeks the very top bristle clump fell out while I was brushing my teeth and I ALMOST choked on it .... very dangerous and NOT something that you want to accidentally swallow!I thought maybe it was just an anomaly - and threw that one out & replaced with the new one. Then SAME thing happened only 2 weeks in with the new brush head!!! I am not going to buy this new version in the future - too risky.I would STRONGLY suggest that Phillips absolutely needs to check their quality standards and/or design to ensure the bristle clumps are SECURELY attached to the brush-head so that the risk of swallowing or choking on one that comes loose will not happen!!!! This new brush head is very comfortable. However, my teeth don't feel completely clean after I've used it. My teeth and mouth don't have that super clean feeling that is normally there after using a Sonicare toothbrush. When I bought this new brush head I did not realize I had purchased a brush head with soft bristles. After a while I thought maybe I'm getting lazy with my brushing habits. I didn't know what happened to that good clean feeling. After using this new brush head for 2 weeks my teeth no longer felt shiny clean. Such a foreign feeling after using a sonic toothbrush for so many years. Finally, this morning I broke out one of the other brush heads purchased at the same time. But these have medium soft bristles which are nothing like the soft type bristles. That is why I'm taking the time to write this review. I have that clean feeling on my teeth again, like they're shiny polished. That's after just one use. Furthermore, I would be willing to bet if I went in for a checkup today, my gums would not get the good mention they normally get since using that soft bristle. It seems the soft bristle combined with the Soft gel-like bed the bristles sit in make it way too soft to completely clean the teeth of plaque and whatever other buildup wants to get on there overtime without proper brushing.I'm surprised to read here a comment about this brush head and any kind of comparison with a cleaning at the dentist's office or by a oral hygienist. Then again, am also surprised that at this time there are six comments, all of them five-star and loving this brush head. That is not my experience.I'm happy recommending Sonicare toothbrushes and brush heads but could not recommend this particular brush head.PS Two stars on comfort. Otherwise, zero stars for being too soft. I understand some may need a super soft bristle and for them this will probably be a wonderful brush hea. But perhaps for the average person this could be better labeled. Probably comes down to removing and cleaning versus massaging. Read more
I bought a package of four, and each one fell apart after 3 or 4 uses. The bristles for this model are embedded not in the brush head, but in individual rubber cups that are then glued into holes in the brush head.I contacted Philips directly and they sent me a package of 3 of the same kind that also fell apart. Again I reached out and they responded that this never happened before, but agreed once again to send replacements. I asked for standard heads, and when they arrived in the mail, there were two.I use an oil product to brush my teeth. It's a formula of almond, spearmint and peppermint oils...maybe it dissolves the glue they use. No idea. Read more
The bristles are very hard in these heads. I have receding gums and am using these extra carefully as to not cause more damage. I do miss the ones with soft bristles. Perhaps there is something I am missing about these in terms their benefits to gums, but the very hard bristles seem hardly gum friendly. Read more
Put the head in my brush same day I got them. Fell apart in my mouth in seconds. Plastic and bristles stuck in my teeth. Awful experience Read more
I make an effort not to brush hard, and anyway, the Sonicare won't allow hard brushing. Therefore, I know I was not abusing these brush heads, but both of them fell apart in less than 2 weeks of use. The only thing I can think of is that I add an essential oil to my toothpaste to aid in cleaning my teeth, and this may have softened whatever glue is holding the brushes into the brush head. I tried brushing immediately after putting my concoction on the brush, and rinsing it all off with vinegar immediately afterward on the second brush head, after the first one fell apart, but had no better results. I really like my concoction, so I am ditching the Gum Care in favor of the Diamond Clean. I believe that is what came with the brush, and that one wore out at a normal rate without falling apart when used in conjunction with my tooth paste brew. Read more
