The tooth brush heads with any kind of design on the back of the brush head which makes a break in the material allows moisture to get inside the brush head creating moisture build up and mold at the base of the bristles. I have tried different brands and my conclusion is that it is a poor design. The heads I have that are non porous on the back have no problems. Brush heads are not returnable so buyer beware. If you are looking for kids heads just purchase a soft/sensitive head made for adults. They also have smaller head size. Read more

Ordering these replacement brush heads was a bit confusing considering that there are two options offered- the Compact size or Standard size. I suppose I didn't look closely enough to register that there are two separate options for this brush head. The photos show below are for the standard kids' size, not the compact. As a result, I accidentally ordered the standard size to refill my kids' Sonicare HX6330 brushes. Overall, the standard size is actually comparable to the adult brush heads (see comparison between the standard size kid's brush head on left and my brush head on right-they are virtually the same). I think the kid's standard size is a bit big for the mouths of my seven years olds and think that the compact would be a better fit (literally). However, notwithstanding my sizing mistake, these brush heads fit our model of Sonicare very well and the quality is top notch. Read more

These get moldy at the base of the bristles despite me rinsing them extremely well after each use. I've taken to bleaching them every two weeks, because replacing that often would be too costly (we replace every 2-3 months). The kids brushes sit right next to the adult Sonicare brushes we use as well, and they do not get moldy with the same care in the same environment. Super gross for my kids. Will have to switch them to adult brush heads next time we buy new ones Read more

I keep trying these thinking it's a fluke, but it's official-- no more! These grow black with mold SO quickly, these photos are after barely 1 month of use with the cap on in between uses. My daughter is 7 and these fit nicely with her electric toothbrush but I'm going to have to find another brand because this is just gross. Read more

Philips decided to replace the old Kids brush heads without telling, and for that I take one star off what it actually is a very good product. It replaces the Philips Sonicare HX6042/64 Replacement Brush Heads which are discontinued, if you find them you will have to pay an outrageous amount of money as they are very hard to find. The Standard size are now those for kids older than 8 or with big mouths, and the compact ones are for smaller kids. This is not even clear on Philips website so it took me some time to research and find the right replacement. A simple note saying it replaced the old heads now discontinued would have saved me plenty of timeThey are as good as the old ones, very high quality and long lasting. Given the price, you might be tempted to go for the generic heads but I wouldn't recommend it, you will be thinking your kid is cleaning her/his mouth the best way possible when in reality the knock-out head in doing a poor job. That and the possibility of them falling apart on your kid's mouth, I've seen that happen. You made an investment on the brush, these heads are the right call Read more

I wanted a smaller brush head since the adult size seems to big for my mouth and keeps scraping my gums. These are about the same length, but a little narrower so they really didn't help much. I may need to go back to OralB Read more

I have the fancy Diamondcare handset, but bought my husband the less expensive kid's handset since he breaks his down quickly. He used the standard head that came with it, so I decided to try out the compact head. I prefer compact heads and I really enjoy the softer bristles -- better for your enamel. I'm going to keep supplying my husband with these, and myself with the compact heads. The other thing I like about them is the rubberized finish. Your teeth feel more protected because you don't have hard plastic vibrating against them at 30,000 rpms.**Edit 7/15/15: I receive these via Subscribe & Save. This month I was mistakenly sent the Diamondcare standard heads. I was briefly confused and came online to check if that's what I had ordered and I have not. Packing mistake? Read more
