I received my initial order of cotter pins in a cheap plastic divider box whose hinges had broken, allowing the contents - 1000 (give or take) cotter pins - to be dumped into the box containing other ordered items. This was replaced by Amazon with zero hassle, and the replacement came two days later. Way to go, Amazon.However, knowing full well these were not going to be aircraft industry quality (1000 pins for $15), I did expect the pin sizes to match the legend. The 1/8" x 1-1/4" and the 1/8" x 2" pins were both 3/32", not 1/8"; there were no 1/8" pins in the kit. 1/8" is a pretty popular size for general DIY tasks. Disappointed to have none when there should been two (2) lengths. I won't bother to send this one back (I've already put them into a better organizer), but this is the first time I've gone the cheap route with Performance Tool and been let down so badly. Read more

Decent price for the quantity of woodruff keys. They are smooth and close enough to spec that I can't tell if they're not. The case is made of semiflexible plastic, so it's not going to shatter if it drops. Not sure of the shear strength -- hope to never find out too. I used mine for a Gravely power sweeper gear shaft and bought an entire set because it was cheaper than buying just one key from a specialty store. Strange world we live in! Read more

I only needed a couple keys, but buying this assortment through Amazon didn't cost much more than just getting the couple keys I needed locally, considering my order qualified for free shipping. The keys are well-organized in a see-through plastic box, a different size in each compartment, and the size/part number for each compartment so if I run out of one particular size I know what to order. The box does a good job organizing the keys, and seems sturdy enough for the job it is asked to do. The keys themselves fit precisely, at least the ones I used did. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the keys have not been in use long enough to know how strong they are. Woodruff keys are supposed to be made to a certain strength/hardness and I have no way of knowing if these are made to the proper strength except by waiting to see if they hold up long term. These were to replace some missing woodruff keys on a transaxle. I only had metric from a similar kit from HFT and none of them fit. Research told me I needed SAE keys instead so I purchased this. But these are about 1/64" too wide. I had to Dremel them down to get them to fit anyway. Read more

Prompt shipping of product, however the overall quality could be improved;1- the index label inside the box cover has no correlation to how the sizes are arranged into which compartment of the assortment box.2- the physical diameter dimensions of some of the pins are undersized. A 1/4" roll pin measured 250" diameter "un-sprung", using vernier calipers, which would be a loose fit in a .250" diameter hole.3- some of the pins seem to be oversized.
