Sometimes you have to cut out a luxury. My luxury vice is fragrance! I have always been disappointed by imitation fragrances. The number one reason is the scent fades in about an hour, or at least for me, it seems. Theirry Mugler's Angel is my favorite scent, not just the smell, but a squirt or two will stay with you all day. Imitations have more water than their real counterparts, so they fade super quickly. I have tried others, figured at the price why not try it. This Perfect Scents Angel inspired fragrance is spot on. The smell is on point and it lasted all day! There are other variables that can affect a fragrance, such as your PH level and other differences in each person. This was my experience with it, so yours may be different. I had been wearing Opium since 1977 when it came out. I have been unable to wear the 'new' Opium since Yves Saint Laurent changed the formula. In fact, I have not worn any perfume since 2012 when my bottle ran out. I really missed the original Opium. I felt wonderful wearing it, the bonus being how many people complimented me on my perfume. This year I decided to try the imitation offerings. Tried two and was very disappointed. This is so very close to the 1977 version, I will be purchasing again. I would recommend it to anyone. I ordered Perfect Scents' version of Cashmere Mist on July 14 and received it on July 16 (a day before the estimated delivery date).I tested Donna Karan's Cashmere Mist (EDP) years ago and absolutely loved it. I didn't purchase it then since it was pricey. I have a few of her other fragrances that were more within my price range since I bought them on sale.I had forgotten about this fragrance until I saw Perfect Scents' dupe and decided to try it. I'd have nothing to lose if it didn't work out since it cost me less than $10.I am really impressed by and love this fragrance. It comes very close to the real thing with the exception of longevity. Both Karan's EDT and EDP have much better longevity. With this one, re-application at some point during the day is necessary to improve and extend its performance (depending on your body chemistry. Not everyone should respray fragrances, especially floral, powdery ones).I typically never re-spray perfumes since they change over the course of the day and can transform into something unpleasant, especially when sprayed on the skin. This fragrance doesn't change (not on me anyway). So when I re-sprayed it, it maintained the same freshness.Here's something to note: I didn't respray because I needed to. I did so just to see if it would maintain the same freshness the second time around after it dries down. It did.I sprayed this fragrance on my pulse points and my top. It became a lovely, warm, clean skin-scent in about 2 hours. I can still smell it on my top 4 hours later (though not as strong as when I first sprayed it). All this to say, use a light hand with this fragrance because it has the capacity to overwhelm.Just like the authentic CM, this fragrance is powdery and warm and you can detect the woody notes in the dry-down.Like many other people, I despise powdery perfumes intensely (especially when combined with jasmine), which is why I almost passed this one by. But the powdery note in Perfect Sense's CM is very well balanced with the other notes, including jasmine, so the powdery note doesn't overwhelm.This also has a soapy smell-- so it's perfect to use right after a shower on clean, moisturized skin. Again, this is a good reason to use a light hand with this or the authentic Karan flankers. Perfumes that have a combination of soapy, powdery and floral/citrus notes can be a huge miss when over-sprayed since they become cloying and monstrous especially in warm/hot weather.Perfect Scent's CM is sensual and clean, with a warm, creamy dry-down. I doubt this will last beyond the summer as I find myself wanting to use it more than my other fragrances.While this is best suited for warm/hot weather, I can see myself using it year-round, including gloomy winter months when I need something to lift my mood.This was a blind-buy since I've never heard of or tried products by this brand, and I am very impressed. This does not smell like Angel. I wear the original Angel scent and have since thecearly 90s. I thought I could carry this with me if I wanted to freshen the scent later in the day once I put the actual Angel on at home. I read the reviews and apparently on some people this really smells similar. It smells mostly like dish soap to me. I will not wear it. I’ll probanly use it as air freshener in the bathroom.Okay I had to come back and edit because I sprayed this in my bathroom like I said I was going to and I came back hours later and the whole room smelled like Angel.So wait it out and you will be pleased! Angel has been my signature scent ever since it first came out more than 20 years ago. But unless someone gives a bottle to me as a gift, it's pretty pricey considering how much I go through.My past experience with other imitation scents (not of Angel) have been disappointing - everything always smells like cheap, sicky sweet dollar store perfume. But I stumbled upon a tester of this at my local CVS drug store and was surprised by the quality - definitely the best "imposter" scent ever (which may explain why no bottles were to be had locally, only the tester).I applied this to one wrist and the real Angel to the other to compare the two, which are virtually identical.At the end of the day, the Perfect Scents version lasted longer but that may be due to the age of my bottle of Angel.If you are looking to save some money but still like the scent of Angel, this is a great option.
