I've never used Revlon for makeup, but this one time has probably turned me off forever. The eyeliner totally fell apart in pieces every time it touched my eyelid, like the product was years old and they had shipped it to me from the very back corner of a warehouse. I've ordered this from amazon a few times with mixed results. One time, the product came in good condition... The other times, I noticed that the tip of the pencil breaks off pretty easily. No big deal, I'd just sharpen it a little with the built in sharpener and I was good to go! The most recent time that I ordered from here was pretty awful. The pencil was HARD and broke VERY easily. Instead of having a creamy consistency, the outer layers crumbled off and the middle was so hard that I thought there was a metal rod inside. On top of that, there was a STRONG, foul odor coming from the pencil... which signals to me that this pencil expired long ago. I was in dire need of an eyeliner, so I used it, but it irritated my eyes. This works well for my upper lid line application, easy to apply and does not smear but of course will smear if rubbed. Is somewhat waterproof and usually lasts me my entire work shift of 10 hours (sometimes more). Easy to remove with make-up remover. I like to use black and it is true to its color, not too faded like some other eyeliners. I do not use the smudge & pull-out sharpener but I know that it is an option if I wanted to try some different effects. I've been applying the upper lid line for years so I've gotten pretty good at achieving the desired look. By no means am I professional, but I know how I like to wear it. I have tried a set of new ones just in case, but they still break off. I don't know if your supposed to try to sharpen them. I did and it made them worst. So far I've ordered 4 pencils with the same results. I also tried to roll up the color, that didn't work either will say that its a shame because the pencils are a very pretty color! I wish I could send them back but I can't and I paid a lot of money for them. I would even take a different type of Revlon pencil. I would like my money back! Read more

My absolute favorite eyeliner ever. It's really all I use! I buy if off Amazon now because in my state the drug stores jacked up the price.It's straight, solid black and lasts almost all day before any noticeable fading occurs. Plus it's easy to apply, you just have to get used to the amount of pressure you use, since the tip can break with too much. THE ONLY THING IS that this is a waterproof eyeliner, so you need makeup pads that specifically remove waterproof products. (I've used Neutrogena and Olay brand pads, both work fine, it's whatever is cheaper or preferable.) Read more

I've been using the Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner in black brown for over 10 years. I recently ordered several through Amazon and was excited by the lower price, but the product quality is terrible! The eyeliner keeps breaking off in chunks, does not go on smoothly (as it normally does), and it's difficult to sharpen because it keeps breaking off. It's been very wasteful and frustrating. I've never had this problem with this product in the past purchased from other stores. Is this a bad batch??? I went through 9 or 10 and all of them are bad. I'm so disappointed. Read more

This product has been my favorite for many years. I believe 6. I was so dissapointed with my last order. The eyeliner was breaking all the way down as I attempted to apply it and it barely was able to use any before it broke completely and I had to throw away. Really a bummer. A lot of people may use this for their eyes but I use it as my eyebrow pencil. It’s long lasting and doesn’t smear. Buying this pencil in store was starting to become a nuisance because it is a very popular pencil especially in the darker colors. I’m so happy they sale this on amazon. I purchase about 5 of them so it should be me for awhile! I pencil my eyebrows in with this pencil everyday and one last about two weeks to a month. Read more

I have been using Revlon’s color stay eyeliner for years. I always ordered in black/brown, and has no issues. This is the first time I ordered it in black. The black formulation seems very different. The liner is softer, glides on easily, however, this has become a con for me as it seems to break with almost every use.....then I am looking on the floor for that little chunk of black that broke off the pencil. The liner does live up to its name, lasts a very long time, no smudging or fading.....a huge plus!This is a highly pigmented eyeliner, and does have great color payoff, I would recommend the black/brown over the black. Wife loves the colour but she did have a major complaint about the lead falling out once she opened the package. Usually, Revlon's pencils are good quality of this style which she has but this item fell through the cracks. I think it was an add-on so may have been old stock. The application went on smooth when she put lead back in and as promised it does stay on. She still rated it 4 star because she only uses this type of eye liner. Read more

Revlon, I'm so ticked at you. I've been wearing your makeup for 40 years. On a couple of occasions you have come up with an incredibly good product that I would never see myself replacing.
