These have double the calories of normal pediasure and lower sugar. Great option for if you have a kid in the lower weight percentage that has GI issues. My kid has to take miralax every day to make sure he doesn't get backed up. This seems to be a little easier on his belly, but it's thicker than his normal pediaure. I started pouring into a cut and giving him half mixed with regular milk and stirring in the miralax (and doing the same for night without the miralax added).I like the lower sugar and high calories for my skinny picky eater with tummy issues.However....the price is INSANE. We could never afford to keep our kid on this. Hopefully those that absolutely need this one can get it covered by insurance.We'll continue to buy regular pediasure from costco when it goes on sale. In addition to providing daily vitamins, this bottle of beverage has 356 calories and a protein content of 10.7g, which is higher than normal whole milk. I'm not a nutritionist... Just a concerned parent... But it seems to me that at over $7 per bottle, there should be a way to make this more nutritious than using canola oil, whey protein and sugar, to name a few ingredients. There are no fruits or vegetables in this that I can see. I'd just love to see a complete nutrition drink actually contain real nutrition and not just empty fats and carbs. PediaSure for GI is a peptide drink with prebiotics and a lot of protein. The calories are a little higher but equally nutritious. This helps with gastro-intestinal conditions, so it's designed to break down easier so there is less discomfort afterward. The taste is pretty good considering there are plenty of Vitamins and minerals available that are great for growth and overall immune boosting. My son has some digestion issues since birth and he also has a low BMI. He tried the regular version PediaSure shake and he did like those but still got gas problems. So I though PediaSure Peptide 1.5 Cal might be a better option for him. He seems like the flavor and drinks with no issues. There is a 1 Cal version which might be better for kids not that underweight. The price ($7 per bottle) is a lot higher than regular PediaSure drinks so make sure your LO really needs it otherwise it would be a waste of money. Read more

These are also appropriate to give to young kids without any special health needs. They contain lower sugar than regular Pediasure, so if you can get them started on these, in my opinion it is a better option. In my opinion, they taste almost exactly like the regular Pediasures, only a very slight difference.These contain corn maltodextrin if there are any allergy concerns, but Pedisure does provide a similar shake that is made with rice maltodextrin instead. I ordered these for my youngest as she has had some GI issues recently. They surprisingly taste great and are full of lots of goodness: prebiotics, antioxidants, vitamins C & E, and selenium, to support the immune system.They are great for a youngster to drink as is, and you can also use for tube feeding.
