So The Conditioner is clearly not the real thing. The scent is off, the feel isn’t the same (that extra conditioning soft feel is missing), the color is even a bit lighter than the real thing. If you look closely at the pictures provided, all of the ingredients are the same except the fake, to the left, has added “Aloe Barbadensis Leaf extract.” With that said, it’s not the worst conditioner I’ve ever used. It’s not the good stuff but it’s not horrible. I am not allergic to aloe extract and I don’t have time to try to order some from the website so I’ll use it but don’t be fooled, this IS NOT the real thing that I received. I’ve been using this stuff since 2005 so I could tell right away this wasn’t real. If you don’t mind using knockoffs, then you’ll be fine. If you are allergic to the added ingredients or need the real stuff, don’t buy. Otherwise, purchase at your own risk. You never know what you’re going to get.Update: After using this stuff for a week has left my hair very dry and tangly in the shower and does nothing that the real stuff does for my hair (curl definition, moisturizing, or frizz control), this is a do not buy for me. I have used this for years and this is not the real stuff. I am disappointed this is sold by Amazon. This doesn't smell the same, at all! And as posted by a previous review, it feels more like Vaseline. This is supposed to be a leave in / don't rinse out conditioner. If you like your hair to feel like it is plastered in bacon grease, this is for you! Yuck! Sad, I like the real stuff. Look check out my other reviews, typically very positive reviews. But when something is this misrepresented? Time to call B.S. Sadly, I guess the salon is the only place to get the real stuff any more.Update ! I have now used this a couple of times and have updated my review. I am not so critical of this as I was when I 1st got it. I remain curious as to whether this is the real stuff, either Paul Mitchell changed the formula or this is not a true supplier. But that said I know AMAZON will make things right for me. Read more

Although the bottle looks the same, as indicated in the "Ingredients" labeling, there are more than one formulation of this product. Recommend the product coded 0009531113494 as specified in the listing above, but the product with UPC 843992069552 has a very distinct fragrance that I cannot stand. Don't know why the company does not make the distinction between the different formulations more obvious on the bottle as that can lead to a bad purchase and dissatisfied buyer. Poor marketing on their part. :-( Read more

I have used Paul Mitchell’s Original Leave-in Conditioner for over twenty years, and I have loved it. Now, I cannot get past the AWFUL SMELL that it did not used to have. Within the past year or so, I have purchased several bottles, from different vendors, including a beauty shop. All have a sickly, rotted old plastic scent that makes me gag. It appears to be the same product, but the smell is just disgusting. At first I thought I had an expired bottle. Then I thought maybe it was a fake. But, to date, I have bought five (5) bottles, all from different stores (including Amazon), and all have the chemical rotted plastic odor. I found a travel bottle of some of the product from several years back - three or four years old - and it smells nice, like the old Paul Mitchell Leave-in Conditioner that I had loved. What has happened to this product? People who like the smell, perhaps you have older inventory. It is very sad that such a wonderful product could change to have such an awful, rotten scent. I can only hope that the company does something about it - or that I find a comparable product that does not smell so bad. Read more

I’ll start off by saying I originally bought this thinking it was a regular wash and rinse conditioner. I was surprised when I opened the packaging and discovered it is actually a leave-in conditioner. I usually don’t like leave-in products but I thought I’d give it a shot. I used it for the first time this morning and I was pleasantly surprised. I followed the suggested directions and towel dried my hair until damp. I used a tiny dime-sized amount of the product and rubbed it between my hands until it turned from blue to white and rubbed it on the ends of my hair. Another reviewer mentioned that it added to their blow dry time but I didn’t have a problem. My hair feels clean like it has no product in it and I love it. The only thing I wish for is more of a scent because my hair smells like nothing, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. I will update my review if anything changes. Read more

GOOD PRODUCT.NEW FORMULA additionally includes:Aloe Barbadensis Leaf ExtractBbtylene GlycolSoy bean OilSoyamidopropyl DimethylamineThese ingredients DO NOT Affect the way this "leave-in" conditioner woks...which is great.HOWEVER...i believe it has a stronger scent than that of the Original Formula.. (Oloe-ey?) 😕. Not too crazy for the stronger scent. Read more

I'd give this 10 stars if I could! I can't recommend Paul Mitchell highly enough. This is the first time I've used his products. I also bought the Awapuhi Shampoo. My hair felt and looked like I'd just walked out a salon. This is a leave in conditioner, which I've never used before. I was a bit worried it might make my hair flat and greasy. It doesn't. It detangled in far less time than the detangler I use does. A couple of minutes and it was brushed through and ready to start drying. The result: my hair has never looked so good with me doing it at home myself. It feels so soft and just amazing. I still can't get over it, to be honest. Do definitely give this product a go. You might think it's a bit indulgent - I bought it as a treat - but it is so worth it. In fact, with results like this, it's really not expensive at all. Your hair has that light swingy feel to it that you have when you walk out a salon. This is definitely how I would define luxury. Read more

I've been using this product for some twenty years or so ...what I like about it is it's a leave in condition after you have washed your hair ...and the other reason I like it is I came style my hair and it keeps it in place all day and shines like you have used hair gel ....and when you run your fingers through it ...it takes that gel set appearance off leaving your hair soft and still in place ! I would recommend this product especially to men as it keeps shortish hair like mentioned above.... Read more

I use a tiny amount every morning after showering. A drop a little larger than a pea. I towel my hair ‘dry’ and rub it in all over with my finger tips. Hair is much shinier and less prone to static.Much better than a traditional conditioner used in the shower after shampoo. This stuff is great and lasts for ages.Highly recommended. Read more

I've rediscovered this conditioner and have been using it for the past couple of years. I have wavy hair which needs a bit of taming. I used to use serums, or curl gels etc but I now just use this conditioner instead. I wash my hair at night, use a 10p size blob, gently comb it through and leave it to dry. When I wake up I gently brush my hair, it's frizz free and shiny. I just add a little hairspray and I'm done. Read more
