I use this product all the time on my hair and it holds perfectly without being too thick or sticky - I usually buy from the local salon, but I ran out before getting a haircut and decided to buy online - big mistake. Same packaging and all, but the product inside had a different consistency and lots of tiny hard chunks that stuck out in my hair. Basically unusable. I mentioned this at the salon and they told me that Mitch and other hair product retailers would rather sell their product through salons and the stuff you get online may only be 50% genuine product and 50% "filler". I have no way of knowing whether that's true, but I've used this stuff for years and the only time I bought it online it was crap so.... Read more

This doesn't quite smell correct and doesn't hold up quite the same. The product packaging is a little different, indicating a counterfeit product. It smells very much like chemicals instead of actual Paul Mitchell. Read more

I’ve used this product for a number of years. I bought this thinking it was a bit cheaper, but it’s completely not the same product. The styling mold is really gritty with lots of bits of chunks of stuff in it. The paste doesn’t hold your hair for more than an hour, and it actually adds kind of a white tinge to your hair. Do not buy. Read more

Really doesn't hold very well. I have fine hair and it doesn't even fully keep all the stray hairs from sticking up. The smell is better than other brands I have used such as American Crew, but the hold is not as good. It does fully disappear into the hair which is great. I just wish it held better.Paul Mitchell used to make a bottle of hair conditioner that had awapuhi and had a slightly stiff feel when it dried after being worked into wet hair. Yet it still had a natural look if you used about a dime-sized portion. The last time I saw it was many years ago, but it was a great product. The hair salons now-a-days have no idea what it was and I have searched but been unable to find or identify what it was called. I doubt that Paul Mitchell still makes it. Unfortunately they no longer seem to have product specialists who know their full product line. Read more

I have about 5" of hair and normally alternate between Aveda's hair clay and Paul Mitchell's Tea Tree hair cream. Both of those have a matte look and medium-strong hold, which I like. I gave this a try and it's just ok.The scent is somewhat generic and the hold is not as strong as the two other products mentioned above. It's not bad, in that I will finish using the jar, but not something I would consider as an upgrade. Read more

Not bad, but the hold strength is not exactly what I would call "firm". If your hair is longer than an inch there is no chance it will hold your hair all day.....without some hairspray. But then again, very few products will at this price point. Not a bad product to have for "lazy" Saturdays when you don't want to go through a full styling routine for your hair. For me, I spray in some Not Your Mother's Sea Salt Spray and then work in some Mitch Reformer and that will hold for most of the day.... But not perfectly, it's a workable hold so it will move around throughout the day slightly. Read more

I’ve been using PM Reformer for years now and normally bought at the salon. Found it on amazon a little cheaper and signed up for it. First one was fine but the last two I’ve received have been poor quality, they’ve been clumpy. Going back to paying the extra two dollars and buying from salon Read more

Hands down, the best hair product for people who want natural looking hair with a little hold. My barber turned me onto this stuff years ago. I went through a few pucks of it and then tried a bunch of other products before finally coming back to this. None of them did what this can. I have very fine hair which means a lot of other products weigh it down and it looks flat. You also get stuck with hair that feels gross. Not with reformer. it's a light creamy product and once you put it in your hair and it dries, it doesn't feel like anything is really in your hair, but you still get some hold.I had it in yesterday and it was really windy. I went inside, ran my fingers through my hair and fixed it, and it was back to normal without having to reapply. I love this stuff. Read more
