Product Description For over 40 years, Parker Safety Razor has engineered the world’s finest shaving gear and classic men’s grooming accessories. We have been a leader in safety razor innovation and design, ensuring that each of our products is manufactured to the highest standards. Our strong heritage and quest to deliver exemplary products are reflected in our commitment to our customers’ satisfaction with every item that bears our name. Nothing Shaves Like a Parker - For over 40 Years Parker Safety Razor has been the obvious choice! Parker Safety Razor offers an unparalleled line of barber straight razors. These beautifully designed razors allow a barber to easily change a blade between clients and provide luxury shaves with an instrument that mimics a traditional straight razor. Unlike traditional straight razors, there never is any sharpening or stropping required. Parker's Shavette razors are used in barbershops and shave parlors worldwide. The unique "clip to close" mechanism on this razor keeps the razor blade securely in place and perfectly aligned. Unlike most shavettes, our Parker SRX razor has a heavyweight stainless steel blade arm in addition to a stainless steel handle - not lower quality aluminum. Many have told us that our shavette razors perform just like a straight razor -- except that there is no honing or sharpening required. Quality in Every Detail.... Every Parker razor is assembled by hand. The Parker SRX has been designed with features to ensure a quality shaving experience. Alright Everyone. I am writing this review on this product from Parker and also I am going to debunk a majority of the 1 Star reviews which are crazy and the product itself is not the causation of the 1 star review. So, I am a regular Parker product user. I have never had a problem with any of their razors, this razor included. Now let's get into the brass tax of this. "I cut myself changing blade" - learn how to properly change a blade. Use common sense. "it's made in India" - yea, no shiz. Parker is founded, made, and headquartered in India. They make great products at Parker in India. Stop being racist. "you can't return it" - it clearly says on the product page the type of return policy this product abides by. YOU SHOULD HAVE READ IT! not worthy of a 1 star review. "poor quality" - it really isn't and the company wouldn't have the reputation it has if it was bad quality products being made. It's a 25ish dollar blade. It's amazing quality for the price. If this isn't good enough, SPEND MORE AND SHUT UP! "it tugs and pulls hair" - YOU aren't using the proper angle and should learn how to use it properly before giving a bad review. Not the razor's fault you are incompetent with straight razors. "it just doesn't shave" - NO, you don't know how to shave in this way. "the handle seems too loose" - it really doesn't matter considering the handle rests between your fingers anyhow. "it's a useless design" - was it useless back in the 1800s?? "cuts face more than hair" - again, learn how to properly use a straight razor. "difficult to remove or place the blade" - how about taking the time to figure out a technique that works for you. I had to finagle a way to get the razor in place. It's supposed to be tight tension. It's not a defect. "I wish this was German or Japanese, it's what I prefer" - then you obviously knew already that you were going to hate this product. So buy a Japanese Feather or a German Rockwell or Dovo. Don't be a troll and spam 1 star because you are a racist that hates a certain country. "does not look like the pictures" - seriously? You're blind. Every review with pics and vids looks like the razor in the product page. Not worth a 1 star because you can't tell the difference between corners and angles of the product. "it's too simple" - it's a freaking straight razor. It isn't complex to begin with. Not worthy of 1 star for this. That will sum up the major 1 star reviews that are not actually the cause of the razor itself. Now I realize that not every razor shipped will be in perfect condition but this also happens with the German brands and the Japanese brands and any other brands. It happens, it sucks. But this product does in fact offer an exchange. Literally says this on the product page. May not be the precious entitled trust fund baby refund, but at least you'll be able to get the issue solved via getting a replacement. Yet another thing that isn't worth the worst of the worst rating. As far as I am concerned, as one who is a user of old fashioned razors and shaving, Parker makes a good product and the majority of the 1 star reviews are user errors or false claims of quality. Again, less than 30 dollars. You aren't going to get something absolutely top shelf. People gotta do better and do more research. That's about all. Peace Out Read more
This is one of those tools that when you start out, you think, why would I pay the extra $$$ for something that does the same thing as the cheaper version? And that's perfect, because using the cheaper Parker version of this shavette is the way to go for the first timer... I've been using it for five years or so now. My son is getting ready to learn how to shave and I want him to learn on a straight-edge, so I thought I'd upgrade mine, let him use my old one, and bought this, not expecting too much of a difference. I was intrigued by the weight comments, but didn't expect a whole lotta difference. Wow... you truly can't appreciate the weight of this tool until you've experienced the lighter version of it... it's like day-and-night... the feel in your hands is so much nicer... at the sake of sounding weird, I will say it's the difference between driving a Kia and a Corvette... drive it the same way, but whoa, not the same experience! As an added benefit, there's no more catching of the tang in the handle... this is a true, professional tool and feels every inch like it. Again, in my experience, the lighter version is much better if you're a first timer with straight-edge shaving, really, because you want to "push" the blade - it's just a natural tendency when beginning to be more "ham-handed" - which the lighter tool sees you through... this tool, however, is for when you get the lighter touch, allowing the blade to do the work, which takes some time... sure, you could start with this one, of course, but you'll not fully appreciate the difference in its higher quality... this is a 5-star all the way. Read the return policy. There's a reason this is not eligible for returns.. I was told by Amazon it's because it's a sanitary product. Even though I just purchased 6 different shavettes and returned 2 of them without a problem. Those are also sanitary products... The only reason this isn't eligible for return is it's a piece of garbage. They don't want it back, as I wouldn't want it back.1. It's difficult to even open the razor to put the blade in.2. After putting the blade in, I found that its not aggressive enough (maybe just preference). but it took two or three passes to get the hair under my sideburns, whereas the other razors I purchased took it easily in one pass.3. It's too heavy for my liking..All in all, I'm throwing this into the trash, because that's where it belongs.I'm keeping my Facon straight edge, my Equinox, and my Dovo. This one is a piece of garbage, as is the stainless steel straight razor by Kingsmen products (that one is the same as the Equinox, but crappier material and 3 times the price with a different logo.Keep away from this garbage.Again... Not eligible for returns for a reason... All my other razors were returned just fine. Read more
For years I had used cartridge razors. From drug store tossers to Dollar Shave Club. I found that this gives a closer, and more importantly a more comfortable shave. I struggle with skin irritation, acne and ingrown hairs from shaving. This razor has dramatically decreased the number of issues I have.Fit and finish are just fine. Polished stainless and a tight fit. I see no production issues. Its light and feels nice in your hand.Blades are so cheap I replace them for each shave. No reason to have anything but the absolute sharpest blade.Disclaimer: if you are new to single blade shavette razors, there is a learning curve. You'll bloody your wash cloths for a few weeks learning the angle and pressure. The blade is so sharp you never feel the slice. Watch some videos on how to use it and sick with it. You will be rewarded. Read more
You know what? A year ago I bought a legit straight blade from a specialty store. I'd say I spent, 150ish on it. It was completely crap. Maybe sharp on first shave? Lost its edge incredibly quick. Needed to be stropped and sharpened constantly, rusted quickly. A complete and utter waste of money. How much of that is my fault? Probably over 50%, however, all I want is a tool to line my beard up. I don't want a hobby. This is exactly what I needed. Replaceable blades are cheap af. Easy to install. Size of the tool allows a careful steady hand to shape a sxy fkn beard. I'm a combination of denzel/shamar right now thanks to this shiet. Get a sick lineup from a ghetto fab shop, then use this tool to keep those lines sharp for as long as you can. Read more
I have read some bad reviews for the product, which includes various rust issues and all. The item is non-returnable and still i took the risk of buying this one. To give it a try. What to say, If i haven't took that risk I would've missed the shaving experience from one of the best straight razors in india. good product overall. delivery took some time but it's fyn coz it's corona now. Happy with the purchase Read more
If you're going to buy a straight razor that uses a disposable blade - this is a good one. Its build quality is excellent so that the entire razor stays firm and rigid in your hand without slipping. The holder clamps the blade in place tightly enough to keep it perfectly in place. It doesn't rust and the hinge pins haven't loosened in the three years I've been using it (I do alternate between other razors so I haven't used it every day, but it is a frequent flyer in my rotation). I'd give it five stars instead of four, but the blade holder is a bit difficult to open and close, so you'll want to be careful not to cut your fingers (I haven't -yet). Would be nice if the design were altered to make the blade changes easier - or if there were instructions to explain if there's a trick to changing the blade that I just haven't figured out! Received the product but I'm not sure if this is used or lost but it doesnt seem to be new to me. It has lots of dirt . I used alcohol to see if it was dirt and you can see the napkin black! Is this how it supposed to be? I would like an exchange or refund. Now in built quality it feels and looks great but not convinced this is new . Read more
