Adorable "leather" scrunchies! I haven't really worn scrunchies since the 90s but now that they are trendy again, I thought these might be a more elevated, "grown up" version than the pastel, neon and printed ones of my childhood. They are not real leather, but nowadays, even fake leather can look almost like the real thing and these are good quality PU ones. I bought some [likely overpriced] PU leather headbands from Anthropologie recently, and the fabric of these scrunchies is on par with that of the headbands, which is to say that the price of these might seem high for just scrunchies, but the set comes with three and they would probably cost at least the same price at a similar store for just one! And not even one of better quality.I found the scrunchies to be quite comfortable. Unlike many other hairbands I have used, my hair did not get tangled and torn out when I took one off. The fabric is smooth, so it slips off easily and since it is not a thin elastic, did not leave any ponytail bumps. The inside elastic is wide and "firm/tight" enough to keep a good hold on hair - I have very long, thick hair and had no problem keeping a ponytail up all day with these. If I were to have a really high pony, where my head helps keep it up, or a low pony, where it does not have to fight against gravity, I would probably only need to wind it around twice so it would be slightly more comfy/less tight. Stretching a lot more than expected, however, I can easily wind the elastic around 3x for the extra hold my usual basic, straight back ponytail requires, so it is nice that these scrunchies have the ability to give that option.I ordered the black/coffee/apricot set, which comes with black, dark brown and like a light tan/putty (not sure why it is called "apricot" when it is not at all similar to the color of the fruit), and I do think the neutral tones help the scrunchies look higher quality - I suspect since some of the more fun hues available, like metallic gold, are not natural leather colors, they might possibly look cheaper/more obviously fake. I ordered the ack of 3 Hair Scrunchies for Women,PU Leather Scrunchies Elastic Hair Ties for Women Girls in the Blue/Apricot/Tan colour variety. The scrunchies arrived looking exactly as pictured. The faux leather (polyurethane) they are made of does resemble leather from far away, and has a bit of a more mature or chic look than the cloth and velvet kind. There was no bad smell to the material or anything, and they seem to be very well made.These scrunchies aren't quite as elasticky as I'd normally like. I usually prefer them to be slightly tighter. I did find that after wearing one just briefly, it seemed to have stretched out a bit, although I was certainly still able to use it. Since they are a bit thick and are made of the PU material, you don't have quite as much versatility when it comes to wrapping them as many times as you may like. However, a basic figure 8 works to hold the hair, and these grip fairly nicely and don't snag or pull or cause any breakage. I think anyone with very thick or curly hair will especially appreciate these scrunchies.The plastic box they arrived in was quite dirty looking, so keep that in mind if you're thinking of purchasing these for a gift for someone. Since they were for myself and since the product inside was still clean and in new condition, I didn't care about all of the smears on the clear plastic box.
