I've tried many other potty, but this one is the best. This one doesn't have the flush button or clapping/ music sound, but still this Oxo potty beats all the other ones for several reasons. 1. The bowl is larger than Fisher-price potty. 2. You don't need to buy liners at all. Fisher-price potty had a metallic screw exposed at the bottom of the potty, so I had to wrap it with liner bag every time to protect the bowl from pee/poo. But this bowl has no such a thing, a child can just pee/poo at the bowl directly and dump it to the toilet and you can clean the bowl. That's it. 3. Because there is no music feature, there is less risk a child will play it like a toy. It's easy for a child to think their very first potty as a toy, but once they play with it, it becomes very hard to teach potty training. 4. It is designed for a child to grab the bowl's sides easily, so he/she can carry it to the toilet and safely dump their pee/poo. 5. Simplicity. This potty has a very nice sleek design with a high see back. My little boy looked comfortable sitting in it. It's a nice size not to big. My little boy is 14 months and around 30" tall, his feet touch the ground when sitting in it. It's made of thick, quality plastic. However, the splash guard is too low and does not prevent urine from streaming out onto the floor. This would be a really great product if the splash guard was higher. Read more

I got this for my grandson to use when he is at my house. It seemed to be almost identical to the Babybjorn one he has at home. It is NOT! The first time he used it he sprayed everywhere because the shield for little boys is not high enough. He now has to lean over to be sure it goes into the potty. Definitely a design flaw--would be fine for a girl. Other than that, it is well made and sturdy. For whatever reason my toddler has taken to this potty chair. I had the small seats on each of our bathroom toilets but she was not comfortable using them, in fact she did not use them. Now that we have this seat, she can move it to a place that she wants and gives her control. After 6 months of hard fault potty training, in just 2 days she is going to the potty. Its easy to clean, sturdy and comfortable for her. So happy we purchased this seat. Read more

The front lip isn’t tall enough for my long torso-ed two year old boy so accidents are more likely. Both my boys (2 & 4 years) say it’s uncomfortably to sit on. The Summer Infant brand is a much better design in my opinion. Read more

Well this is the one to buy, we had bought an entirely substandard supermarket potty for our little one and he hated it, primarily because it was too low to the ground. This OXO one was therefore a panic buy to get something he was happy with to ease the pain of potty training; if you’ve found your way here for the same reasons then here is my perspective on things - This unit is 1) very sturdy 2) a good height off the ground 3) easy to clean as the potty bowl is removable from the throne! In all it’s a really good set up. Downsides, it’s a bit big to carry about as necessary but then that’s also why we purchased this one, so my advice is to pair it with a small portable one. I know it's a strange thing to complain about; this is more of a 'heads up' really, the plastic is staticy and every tiny cat hair or rougue fluff sticks to it so it always looks filthy. Read more
