I was hoping that this would be a good replacement for the Schwarrzkopf OSiS Boost It, which was hands-down the best styling product I've ever used. (Why they discontinued Boost It, I will never know!) But, Big Blast is a gel, rather than a serum, and it is extremely drying. Although it is fairly effective as a root lifter, it left my hair very dull, unmanageable, and straw-like. Since Boost It is no longer on the market, I suggest OSiS Upload instead, which provides shine and manageability, but Upload does not measure up to Boost It as a root lifter. Read more

I have fine hair and a roller set it for more volume. I use a little bit of this product and it really helps hold the curls. But don’t overuse it if you have fine hair it is very strong! It does make my hair shinier but when I brush through it it goes away easily. I don’t find I have any residue and I have dark hair. Read more
