I have IBS-C and I like to use triphala on and off to help with it. In addition sometimes I give my cats a bit to help them as well, so overall I prefer to do powders over capsules these days as capsules often have fillers, aren't always vegan caps, etc.I tried two triphala powders before and was kind of surprised by the strong taste versus the taste that I was used to with some capsules I took. Triphala is a mixture of 3 different spices/herbs and I guess in the other powders maybe it was a slighty different ratio and had more a "spicy" taste that I wasn't a fan of at all (nor were my cats). This is the first powder I found that has a similar taste to the capsules I was using. Triphala doesn't taste great or anything but I find this pretty mild and doable in smoothies/yogurt and my cats like it better too.I reached out to the company to ask about heavy metals and sourcing and they were really helpful. Although they didn't have detailed information they stated that their supplier conforms to EU standards on heavy metals and they work with small farms directly with no middle man. I really appreciated this. I generally trust EU companies more but their response was just great. In addition the packaging and price is great for this and it works just as well as other triphala powders I've tried. If triphala helps you I can highly recommend this one! Read more

This jar of Triphala powder arrived today and is unfortunately completely unusable, as the top was off and the interior seal had been broken, either during manufacturing, packaging or shipping. The powder had spilled all over the envelope and on the other items included.Whichever it was, as with any product meant for human consumption, it is recommended that one not ingest anything from an unsealed or open jar. I'll have to throw the whole thing out and hope that the next recipients are luckier than I was. Read more

i read the reviews and when i saw it helped with bloating, i wanted to try it...as i am always bloated, docs never know why...and this makes a difference... not elimination, but noticeable, and that is not easy, i have tried tons of stuff through the years.so i will continue it... i am not sure which ingredient is helping, and i get burnt out trying to figure out things like that, so i will just stay the course and hope the benefits continues.... recommended... Erbology's organic triphala powder is an exceptional product. The three ingredients in triphala work in synergy. Their many health benefits have been known to Ayurvedic medicine for millennia and are now being increasingly "rediscovered" by modern science. These ingredients are amla (gooseberry), bibhitaki and haritaki. Amla is loaded with vitamin C and phytonutrients (pure amla powder mixed into a paste with water is one of the best hair cleansers and nourishers). Bibhitaki contains an abundance of antioxidants such as ellagic acid, tannins, lignans and flavones. It's also a potent astringent and tonifying herb for the body's mucous membranes. Haritaki - like amla - is a potent source of vitamin C. Together as triphala, these three substances increase insulin sensitivity, act as natural anti-inflammatories, contribute to gut health, boost metabolic rate, lower "bad" cholesterol, and promote general health and well-being. Triphala even has a positive effect on dental health, due to its anti-plaque properties. It's somewhat of a panacea. The flavour is bitter, which doesn't bother me at all. I take supplements for their effects, not their taste. If you aren't a fan of bitter flavours, mixing the triphala powder with a sweet drink such as organic apple or orange juice balances out the bitterness. There's nothing to criticise about this product. Five stars all the way. Read more

I have IBS and also ME/CFS, so anything that might help relieve the constipation and make me feel a little better is worth it. The scent reminds me of walking into a health food shop where they have all the ground spices on display in storage boxes and jars. Certainly brought back some childhood memories. I decided to try 1/2 a teaspoon in a small mug of warm milk. It really didn't mix well by just stirring it. It came up very lumpy and I did my best to swallow the lumps down whole, which worked out okay. There was a little bit left in the bottom as it appeared most of the lumps floated. On the downside, if I tasted the powder directly, it wasn't pleasant. At first, the milk mixture tasted like a good night time malted drink, however, this pleasantness didn't last long. The following day, I tried it in boiling water from the kettle, mixed with orange squash. This time, it dissolved straight away, apart from one lump, which I chased around with a spoon to squash down. Problem solved, use hot water, not warm as suggested. It also tasted good. However, having left it sitting to cool down, I did need to stir it to get it mixed back in again. The first few days, I had great bowel movements, but other factors could have come into play here, because I was back to struggling again after. Also, the more days I had it, the harder it was to swallow down because of the taste and powdery texture left behind. In the end, I went to the whole teaspoon at night so that I didn't have to have it twice a day. As long as I eat healthily, I do feel a little less bloated and my constipation has improved a bit, but not to the point where I can go at ease. Read more

Triphala is a great supplement for the digestive system and has been used for a very long time in Ayurveda.I have previously used capsules and powder forms of Triphala. What I really like about this one is that it is all organic ingredients and also come in a glass jar.If you are having Triphala mixed with water then it is a taste you have to get used to, I have had it many times before so I don't mind it as I am taking it purely for it's medicinal purposes. So you won't really find a difference in taste between other Triphala powders, you could have tablets but then those are more expensive and you have additional ingredients in capsule shells. This is also really great if you are having constipation or just feel heavy in the stomach as it does a great job of gently clearing out the system. I really like the high quality of this Triphala and will continue using this. Read more

I am able to test products on people to determine whether or not their body wants them or not. Bad quality products are invariably rejected by the body and good ones will be accepted if the body wants it. This product shows to be of excellent quality.A little bitter in taste, but iff mixed with something appropriate it is easily consumed. Personally, I would recommend the user to encapsulate the powder if they have the means, which allows for more specific doses and easier consumption.Triphala has a multitude of uses, but is mainly for balancing the body in Ayurvedic medicine. It can also potentially get rid of parasites. However, this is dependent on an individual's needs. Read more

Triphala powder is fantastic for digestion, in low doses it helps with bloating and trapped gas as well as overall gut health, in higher doses in is a good natural laxative. It helps regulate insulin and can help with weight loss too. I pop mine into a latte along with other supplements I use but you can put it in smoothies, yoghurt cereal etc.It comes in a large sealed amber glass jar that keeps it in top condition.Great quality and good value.
