Mold began to form on the inside of these brush heads and chunks of this mold would break off into my children's mouths while they brushed. We had only been using them for 3 weeks when we began to see mold. I put the brush heads in the dishwasher to clean them out, but they continued to shed chunks of mold after each use. We put on brand new brush heads and took care to take off the heads, rinse the heads, and set them to dry after each use. A month later, more mold. First off, the toothbrush is great. The head easily fits in our 4 1/2 year old's mouth and the handle easily fits her hand. She does wish it was pink or another pretty color but she got over that after a day or two. I would have given this a 5 Star Review if Oral-B was more forthcoming in their product details. This Kids' brush is actually the more expensive Adult Pro 1500 that has been placed in a new box that has been labeled for kids. While the Oral-B branding team did change the box they made the slight mistake of forgetting to change the branding on the product instructions contained in the box. As such everywhere in the product instructions it refers to this as the Pro 1500 and the specs match the Pro 1500.Prior to purchasing this brush it was very frustrating that Oral-B had neglected to put this product's specs on Amazon and intentionally doesn't list this product on their own web site. Wanting to know the specs before buying I called their customer support line. The woman on the phone was polite and helpful but the branding team had only given her 1/2 the product details along with a story about why the product wasn't listed on Oral-B's web site despite the fact that it has been selling the brush for months prior on Amazon. Even today (a month later) the product is still not listed on Oral-B’s web site. The only logical conclusion for not posting this product and its specs on Oral-B's web site is that everyone would then identify that this is the more expensive Pro 1500 in a kids box for $20 less and nobody would buy the Pro 1500. I've been using Oral-B electric toothbrushes for over 20 years. They last so long. Mine always last more than 5 years, easy. So I was kind of behind on the latest model and its functions. I decided to go for a decent model with good specs. After some study and comparison, I realized that the most expensive models weren't really any better than some of the "mid-priced" models. They just had unnecessary features like bluetooth and wifi for a toothbrush? Seriously? So I located the best model for the price and that was the Oral-B Pro 1500. It goes for about $67. So I was about to make my purchase when I noticed down a few lines on the page of products there was a model that looked identical to the 1500, but it was for kids with Star Wars and Minnie Mouse on the front. The Star Wars model was only $45! and the Minnie Mouse was $37!! Well thank you Miss Mouse for the $30 discount. I'm a 56 year old man with a brand new Minnie Mouse toothbrush. It works great. The image of Minnie is not a decal. It is permanently part of the brush. You just need to realize how much of a Minnie Mouse fan you really are. Read more

The toothbrush works fine. I noticed several reviews that stated the brush heads get mold in them, I wanted to help these people by writing down that you must clean the heads after use. I use my water pik, it's right there and does a wonderful job but simply running the head upside-down under hot water does a good job as well. Remember to clean items that go in your body. This includes glasses and contact lenses too. And if you aren't sure how to clean something it's great to ask a doctor or even a pharmacist for help. We bought this a couple of months ago and found that head molds extremely easily. There is a hole at the top that goes in your kids mouth and then the spit and toothpaste gets inside the head. It is unattainable to get all the toothpaste residue out of it. This is a very poor design. My husband and I have always used Sonicare toothbrushes and we don't have to do this "maintenance" with them. I contacted customer service at OralB and their answer was that it should be part of the brushing routine to clean it out thoroughly with water, mild detergent and a Q-tip and set it on a paper towel or clean cloth to dry until the next brushing. This is marketed to kids! I was looking for something to make the brushing easier and healthier. Brushing teeth is already a chore for kids why add more chores on top of it. The cleaning takes more time than brushing does. When I brought this up they said, "We do hope that parents would help monitor children's brushing and help clean the toothbrush thoroughly." In conclusion, unless you feel the need to wash out a toothbrush multiple times a day (because I truly don't think kids have the patience to wash this out well enough to potentially keep out the mold so it will be up to the parents) and still have a potential mold issue going into your child's mouth DO NOT BUY THIS! Haven't been even a month using it and the brush head already starts coming out from the electric brush while brushing...when you move the toothbrush from the back to the front tooth, the head starts to come out (the dragging of the brush make the head come off). So, it starts to be inefficient and a bit dangerous, since only God knows what will happen if that head comes out while brushing or something else happens like the head spinning inside my 7 years old daughter... There are no design changes from the 'adult' version of this toothbrush. Therefore the size, power, and pressure sensor are not optimised for smaller kids. The sonicare worked much better for my 5 1/2yr old. Read more

Except for the branding, this toothbrush is identical to the Oral-B Pro 1500. The branding is the only kid specific thing about it, so this is probably the best toothbrush for your money for adults. (The character decal does not come off easily, it might with a solvent, but I haven't tried.)This toothbrush is regularly available for under $70, and has some significant improvements over the Pro 1000 and even other more expensive brushes in the Pro line.The main reasons I bought this brush:- Lithium ion battery with a 14-day charge. Until you get up to the Pro 6000 all of the other brushes have a NiMH battery.- 45000 pulsations and 9900 oscillations per minute. This is the most powerful brush until you get up to the Genius line.- 2 brush heads. Most come with 1.- Most inexpensive brush with a light up pressure sensor.It only has two brushing modes, no Bluetooth connectivity, no travel case, no storage for extra brush heads. Are having these features and more brushing modes worth paying $30+ more while getting less power, a worse battery, and only one brush head?
