I purchased the new Verio Reflect blood glucose meter/monitoring system to replace my Verio Flex device. While the Verio Flex functioned properly, the Verio Reflex has a number of enhancements. The Reflex arrived promptly and well packaged. The kit includes the meter, lancing device, 10 lancets and a carrying case. Note, the kit does NOT include any Verio Test Strips. The test strips for the Reflect device are the same as used in the Verio Flex device ( "One Touch Verio Test Strips" ).Setting the device up is easy following the Quick Start Guide and paired quickly and easily with the "OneTouch" application on my iPhone 8.The Reflect offers a number of features not found on the Verio Flex including a colored backlit display, expanded data analysis, goal setting and mentoring. It appears that OneTouch has listened closely to users and has provided a feature-rich meter. The device requires TWO 2032 batteries, likely because of the backlit color display.I note that syncing is not as immediate as the Verio Flex. The Flex would activate the sync process immediately following a test. The Reflect seems to wait a few seconds before activating BlueTooth for syncing. Ultimately, after the device initiates the syncing process by activating BlueTooth, the sync completes in seconds.I am quite pleased with this new meter and feel that anyone using the Flex will enjoy the enhancements offered on the Reflect. first one received seems defective. It takes several expensive test strips to get a reading. And why wouldn't it just come with some test strips? I did reorder to give a second chance... should send me another set of strips to compensate for the aggravation.Love that this unit synced so well with my phone. Nice case. Compact unit. Pretty easy to use especially with good YouTube videos (who reads instructions anymore?). One more thing... the entry at Amazon doesn't tell you to buy all the extras that did not come with the unit (Control solution, Test strips) Read more
the meter and the sync feature is excelent. It takes away allot of the manual work of logging glucose levels for the doctor. Just take readings and let your phone sync to it occasionally.I will not that the finger prick is not anything special, it works fine, but not the best i have used. But it gets the job done. The older OneTouch-Verio IQ automatically turns on a light that lights up your finger blood sample to make it easier to view when taking your reading. This NEW meter doesn't show the time that you took your reading without digging through the steps like the Verio-IQ does. The Verio-IQ also is rechargeable and this NEW meter uses the more expensive Lithium Battery Disks. This NEW meter does have a pretty colored screen though, and can be uploaded to your cellphone.
