I've been coloring my hair (based on my whims) since I was 15, and I've had a few hair dressers give up because my hair is baby fine, very porous, grabs too much color in some areas and slides off almost immediately and always ends up too red or green or something. So I've mostly done my own hair coloring so I have only myself to blame. I'm 70 now, and due to a catastrophic illness, my hair went silver within the space of a year. It's a gorgeous silver, the kind younger girls are paying big bucks to achieve, but when a senior lady (who happens to be in excellent shape now) has grey hair, that's all other people see and immediately think old, decrepit lady. I know; I'm not supposed to care about others' opinions, especially strangers, but this is where I am in my life right now.....So after much deliberation and a ton of research about toxic vs healthy ingredients, I decided to try this one. I did a little test strip and thought I could live with that, but the full hair color turned out a hundred times better! It's a rich color with lots of variations giving it a natural look. It was a tad darker than I'd wanted, so the first time I shampooed, I used a charcoal detox shampoo, and it washed out just enough color. Now I'm using purple shampoo and conditioner to keep the reds out. It's only been about a week, so I cannot speak to how it will continue to wear, but I'm ordering the next lighter N shade to try next, as I'm sure the gleaming silver roots will shine when this one grows off a quarter inch or so, and lighter looks better on me, anyway. I'm naturally light brunette. Thanks for letting me play with my hair color again without worrying about the chemicals involved. I left it on for the time recommended and used my heat cap instead of a hair dryer. The heat makes all the difference. It was a nice experience, no stinging or strong odors, not messy. My hair is quite short, and it was enough color to cover adequately, but if you have longer hair, I would recommend buying an extra one. Read more
I used Light Ash Blonde 10C and followed the directions exactly only adding the extra time for thick hair. The first photo is how my hair looked just before I washed it and colored. The second photo is how it looked after I colored-quite orangey-red and no root coverage. The third photo is after 20 min with blue shampoo-trying to get the orangey-red out. this worked somewhat. I used root cover to attend a function that evening and later tried a LO'real product that stung my scalp so much I will never use it again. I am EXTREMELY allergic to hair color. It would get so bad that my scalp would itch like crazy and blister... so, I thought I would give the natural hair color a shot. Love it! I read most of the reviews so I was prepared to follow the directions with precision. Nonetheless, although the color initially looked great, and seemed to cover my grey beautifully, after the second washing, the color was already washing out. Definitely would not buy again. Will have to keep looking. (Also, after coloring and conditioning with the included minute amount of conditioner provided with the product, my wet hair felt dry and not even close to soft and silky.) Yes, some of the ingredients contained in ONC NaturalColors are organic, nonetheless the chemicals it contains by far void the organic ingredients.This product is green wash.I used the ONC NaturalColors, it was difficult to mix the hair dye in the ridiculously small plastic cup (had no measurement numbers) included in the box. The plastic hair cap or bonnet included is so cheap it tore when I put it on my head. The plastic gloves are made of very thin cheap plastic, it also broke. Blowing your hair to heat the hair for 20 minutes is very inconvenient.After using the hair dye, shampooing, and conditioning (included in ONC NaturalColors box) my hair was very hard. When I tried to detangal my hair, it was very difficult due to the hardness of my hair. I had read such good reviews about this product that I decided to purchase it. It was easy to apply, even though it did seem to take a very long time to wash the colourant out of my hair. It left my hair feeling soft and shiny, although no more than a lot of other hair colourants.What is very annoying, is that the colour has faded very quickly, and more so than any other colourants that I have used. This has had the effect of a semi-permanent on my hair I use a good quality colour care shampoo and conditioner too.It is not worth the money, and I shall not be purchasing it again. Read more
Whilst product colour is great and hair felt good afterwards, it took me a while to apply. Too long tbh. Plus it didn’t cover some of the greys and washed off quite quickly (in 3 weeks)... given that the application was tedious I felt quite disappointed. During lockdown I looked high and low for an alternative to my salon colour. I was very worried as I don't like to do my own hair - especially as I have had some disasters in the past. Salons shut - needs must. I choose this colour for 2 reasons. First it's natural ingredients and secondly the ease of use. I choose the nearest colour from the chart and it arrived quickly. What a shame I never had a chance to use this product because it's just what my hair needs, but I never got around to it because most of the contents of the box, especially the gloves in the plastic cup and the box was in terrible condition. The seal on the box lid which was used to keep the contents in had been removed and the condition of this parcel wouldn't have been good enough to be sold on a flee market second hand let alone brand-new for this price.
